Based in Singapore, you’ll lead a high-performing team, engage with global stakeholders, and play a critical role in supporting commercial growth while safeguarding financial performance.
About the RoleAs the Senior Credit Manager, you will oversee credit risk for our marine fuel operations, manage a team of credit analysts, and collaborate closely with commercial, legal, and global credit teams. This is a strategic leadership role that requires strong analytical acumen, deep industry knowledge, and the confidence to make timely, high-impact decisions.
🔧 Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Singapore-based Marine Credit team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Credit Risk Oversight: Manage credit assessments, exposure monitoring, and credit line approvals across APAC and the Middle East.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with global credit teams, commercial leaders, and senior management to align credit strategy with business goals.
- Client Interaction: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients through calls, meetings, and occasional international travel.
- Market Monitoring: Stay ahead of market trends and counterparty developments to proactively manage risk.
- Issue Resolution: Escalate material collections issues and coordinate with Legal on unresolved matters.
- Cross-Sector Support: Provide credit support to the Aviation Credit team as needed.
- A degree in Finance, Shipping, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in marine bunker credit or shipping finance/commodities analysis.
- Proven leadership experience managing credit or risk teams.
- Strong knowledge of shipping and commodity markets.
- Advanced skills in financial statement analysis and credit risk evaluation.
- Familiarity with derivatives (swaps, FFPs) and credit risk mitigation tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, decisive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Understanding of legal documentation (e.g., corporate guarantees, LCs, NDAs).
- Willingness to travel and work flexibly across time zones.
