We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Summary:

We’re seeking a strategic, dynamic Senior Communications Manager to lead communications for PayPal World—a new global platform connecting the world’s largest payment systems and digital wallets. This role will shape how PayPal World and its partners tell their story globally, driving narratives that build awareness, engagement, and inclusive cross-border commerce.
Announced in July 2025, PayPal World will link systems across markets including the US, China, India, and Latin America, with initial launches this fall connecting partner wallets to PayPal and Venmo.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Markets Communications, this role will coordinate PayPal and partner teams worldwide. Responsibilities span strategy, media relations, partner collaboration, internal and executive communications, and events. You’ll work closely with PayPal World leadership and cross-functional partners to execute a global communications vision across time zones and regions.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex communication projects and campaigns, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and execute advanced communication strategies to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify communication opportunities and challenges.
  • Implement best practices for communication management and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in all communication efforts.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to the communications team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualification:

  • You have worked in communications for at least 10 years, ideally with experience in Consumer and B2B Communications (such as small-to-medium sized businesses, large enterprise, or industry partners with an interest in cross border commerce). 

  • You may have experience in the financial services sector, such as in fintech or banking, and/ or technology/ ecommerce. 

  • You have extensive experience handling media in multiple markets: speaking to journalists directly, fostering relationships, and generating impactful media coverage. 

  • You are a creative storyteller who understands how stories need to be shaped to appeal to media and can be adapted to deliver multi-market campaigns. You have experience of taking complex or technical topics and translating them into narratives that are relevant and compelling for our audiences. 

  • You are a tried and tested communications advisor for senior business leaders, adept at interpreting, analyzing and aligning to business strategy, as well as influencing business decisions. You understand and can demonstrate the value of communications to business priorities. 

  • You are a team player who can adapt quickly and collaborate effectively, often under pressure. You have the confidence to work autonomously, drive outcomes, and display the highest levels of professionalism, judgement, and attention to detail.
