We have an exciting opportunity for a Biotechnologist to join our Manufacturing Central Operations team at Lonza’s Tuas site. Reporting to the Section Lead/Manager, you will support the manufacture of therapeutic proteins under cGMP conditions while developing technical expertise in manufacturing operations, equipment, and quality systems. What you will do
• Perform manufacturing operations within a cGMP environment, including equipment operation, process monitoring, routine sanitization, sampling, and laboratory tasks in accordance with approved procedures.
• Operate manufacturing equipment and systems, applying aseptic techniques, performing basic troubleshooting, and supporting validation and equipment preparation activities.
• Complete GMP documentation accurately, including Batch Records, logbooks, LIMS transactions, DeltaV operations, Work Notifications, and Quality Tag-outs while maintaining data integrity.
• Develop technical expertise in manufacturing processes, equipment, critical process parameters, and process flow to support consistent manufacturing performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including MSAT, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to support production, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain training compliance and competency across assigned manufacturing operations, equipment, and GMP requirements while continuously developing technical capabilities.
• Contribute to operational excellence by promoting safety, quality, compliance, and adherence to production schedules.
What we are looking for
• Diploma or Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Microbiology, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, or cleanroom operations is preferred.
• Good understanding of cGMP principles, manufacturing documentation, and quality compliance within a regulated environment.
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems such as DeltaV, LIMS, electronic Batch Records, or other manufacturing execution systems is an advantage.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn manufacturing processes, troubleshoot equipment, and work independently in a production environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills with a proactive approach to continuous learning and operational excellence.
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment, perform rotating 12-hour shifts, and undertake manual handling activities in accordance with operational requirements.
