As part of Graduate Studies, the Career Development Office supports postgraduate students in their career development, leadership growth and employment outcomes throughout their learning journey.

The position holder will provide leadership for the MBA Cluster within the Career Development Office, overseeing career development initiatives, leadership programmes, student engagement and employment outcomes across the MBA, Executive MBA (EMBA), Professional MBA (PMBA) and Nanyang Fellows (NF) programmes. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the role will drive strategic initiatives to enhance student success, strengthen industry partnerships and maintain the School's reputation for delivering outstanding graduate outcomes.

What you will be working on:

1. Career Development strategy and implementation:

  • Engage with leadership to identify and drive strategic initiatives to keep career services at the forefront of providing optimal and efficient services;

  • Provide thought leadership to the team on initiatives to capitalise or respond to changes in environmental/ social/ economic factors impacting jobs for MBAs;

  • Lead the careers team in providing multi-faceted career workshops, networking events and company presentations, to get students career-ready.

  • Work closely with Graduate Studies leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance student success and career outcomes.

  • Analyse employment trends, student feedback and market intelligence to inform career development strategies and service enhancements.

2. Drive leadership and strategy for MBA Cluster:

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the MBA Cluster, aligning career development offerings with student needs and market trends;

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance the MBA career journey, from student onboarding through to post-graduation outcomes;

  • Collaborate closely with Employer Engagement team to strengthen industry relationships and expand recruitment opportunities for MBA talent;

  • Monitor industry shifts and student feedback to continuously refine the MBA career strategy and service delivery model.

  • Lead initiatives to strengthen employment outcomes, student engagement and graduate employability across MBA programmes.

  • Ensure career development initiatives support programme objectives, rankings performance and institutional priorities.

3. Lead and oversee Career Leads and Senior Career Fellows within the MBA Cluster:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Career Leads to deliver high-impact career advisory services to students;

  • Set team goals, monitor performance metrics, and provide regular feedback to ensure alignment with office-wide objectives;

  • Facilitate regular team meetings and one-on-one check-ins to drive collaboration, professional development, and knowledge sharing;

  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., academic programs, employer relations) to align career support with broader NBS goals;

  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, deployment and performance of Senior Career Fellows to ensure high-quality coaching services.

  • Establish quality standards and monitor the effectiveness of coaching interventions delivered by Senior Career Fellows.

  • Facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing among Career Leads and Senior Career Fellows to ensure a consistent student experience.

4. Lead career offerings for EMBAs, PMBAs and NFs

  • Spearhead engagement with postgraduate students enrolled in these programmes, to deliver targeted leadership career offerings;

  • Identify leadership needs of EMBAs and PMBAs, and recommend updates to content of career offerings by the team;

  • Manage the design and delivery of leadership development programmes, including identifying and engaging qualified instructors, industry leaders and Senior Career Fellows to deliver impactful learning experiences.

5. Provide guidance on all matters related to career development offerings for MBA students:

  • Lead MBA team in delivering a suite of career offerings to MBA students, with view to helping students achieve their career aspirations;

  • Work with NTU/NBS and external stakeholders in ensuring all relevant job and internship opportunities are availed to MBA students in a timely manner;

  • Develop MBA engagement strategies to keep student satisfaction at a high level;

  • Provide counselling to MBA students where required;

  • Work with MBA team to identify skills required to help MBAs be career-ready;

  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy and timely submission of employment outcomes data for MBA and NF programmes to support rankings, accreditation and institutional reporting requirements.

6. Partner employer engagement team to secure full-time jobs and internship opportunities for MBA students:

  • Provide insights on job aspirations of MBAs to employer engagement team, and co-develop employer engagement strategies to help place MBA students in good jobs;

  • Maintain understanding of market factors (national & global) relative to employer organisations, and build partnerships with companies providing jobs and internships/industry projects;

  • Manage relationships with industry leaders with a view to having these leaders provide industry insights and career coaching to students.

  • Analyse employment outcomes and hiring trends to identify opportunities to strengthen employer engagement strategies and student outcomes.

  • Partner with Employer Engagement colleagues to develop targeted employer outreach strategies for MBA talent.

What we are looking for in the person:

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognised university is required. MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.

  • At least 15 years of relevant professional experience, including leadership responsibility for teams, programmes, projects or stakeholder networks.

  • Demonstrated track record in developing and executing strategic initiatives and managing complex stakeholder relationships.

  • Strong understanding of talent markets, career development, leadership development and workforce trends.

  • Experience engaging and influencing senior executives, industry leaders and postgraduate students.

  • Proven coaching, facilitation and counselling experience, with the ability to support professionals at different career stages.

  • Experience in career services and/or higher education, preferably within a business school environment, is advantageous.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies.

  • A collaborative and proactive team player who demonstrates initiative, sound judgement and a commitment to excellence.
