Nanyang Business School (NBS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), is seeking a Senior Assistant Director (Business Development – Joint Executive Education) to support the growth of its executive education portfolio through collaborative programmes with partner universities.


Based within the ASEAN & China Programmes Office, this role focuses on co‑developing and delivering joint executive education programmes with selected partner institutions, primarily in China and selected international markets. The role complements existing open‑enrolment executive education activities by strengthening NBS’ institution‑to‑institution partnerships.


Key responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

Joint Executive Education Programme Development (Partner Universities)


  • Drive the origination, assessment, and development of joint executive education programme opportunities with partner universities, primarily in China.
  • Lead collaboration with academic directors and faculty from NTU and partner institutions to define joint programme themes, target audiences, and delivery formats that align academic excellence with market demand.
  • Lead engagement with partner universities on programme structuring, positioning, branding, and delivery arrangements to ensure alignment of academic, commercial, and institutional objectives.

Partner University Relationship Management


  • Serve as the primary working‑level contact for designated partner universities on joint EE initiatives.
  • Maintain regular engagement to ensure alignment on programme objectives, timelines, and expectations.
  • Facilitate resolution of operational or coordination issues during programme development and delivery.

Commercial Structuring and Financial Viability of Joint Programmes


  • Lead the commercial structuring of joint executive education programmes, including pricing strategy, cost-sharing models, and revenue frameworks, in alignment with ACP leadership and institutional objectives.
  • Drive financial viability assessments for joint programmes, working with finance and operations teams to ensure sustainable and scalable programme delivery models that meet revenue targets.
  • Oversee financial and participation performance of joint programmes, identifying optimisation opportunities and recommending strategic adjustments to improve commercial outcomes. 

Programme Design Input and Market Relevance


  • Shape the design and positioning of joint executive education programmes by translating market intelligence, client needs, and industry trends into strategic curriculum direction.
  • Lead engagement with academic directors to ensure joint executive education programmes reflect emerging global themes, including internationalisation, leadership development, and geopolitical dynamics.
  • Drive continuous curriculum refinement by synthesising participant and partner feedback into actionable programme enhancements that strengthen market relevance and differentiation.

Internal Collaboration and Team Contribution


  • Lead cross-functional coordination across academic directors, marketing, finance, operations, and programme teams to ensure effective development and delivery of joint executive education programmes.
  • Provide strategic pipeline analysis and partner intelligence to ACP leadership to inform portfolio planning, prioritisation, and growth strategy.
  • Lead capability development by codifying and disseminating best practices in partnership-based executive education programme development across teams. 

Key competencies and qualification requirements: 


  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in business development, executive education, programme development, partnerships, stakeholder engagement, or professional services roles.
  • Strong understanding of executive education and senior leadership development, with the ability to translate market and client needs into programme and partnership strategies.
  • Proven experience in university-to-university partnerships, including the development and management of joint or co-branded executive education programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of China’s business environment and cross-border executive contexts, with demonstrated ability to apply this understanding to partnership development and programme positioning.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience in pricing strategy, cost structure evaluation, and assessment of financial viability for executive education programmes.
  • Demonstrated track record in developing and managing strategic partnerships, engaging senior external stakeholders, and coordinating complex multi-party initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and programme management capability, with experience managing multiple concurrent strategic initiatives in complex environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with senior executives and institutional partners.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (spoken and written) due to need to liaise frequently with international partners and handle Chinese business documents
  • Proficient in business productivity and collaboration tools (e.g. Word, Excel, presentation software, email, and digital collaboration platforms), applied in a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Demonstrates strong professional maturity, adaptability, and sound judgement, with the ability to operate independently across diverse institutional and cultural contexts.
  • Willingness to undertake domestic and international travel as required.
