Job Summary & Responsibilities
As an Applications Scientist at Onto Innovation,
- You will be part of a highly collaborative, competitive, motivated, innovative, diverse, friendly, and hardworking applications team based in Singapore.
- You will work closely with our key customers (both regionally and internationally) in the semiconductor wafer fabrication industry.
- You will be on the forefront of technology, creating innovative metrology solutions for complex materials and semiconductor device structures such as Thin Film modeling, Optical Critical Dimension modeling, Machine Learning solutions (e.g., 3DNAND, Logic, DRAM, etc).
- You will have the great opportunity to immerse yourselves in cutting edge metrology products provided by Onto used in manufacturing semiconductor devices and integrated circuits.
- You will also be exposed to other industry-leading products offered by Onto as you grow within the company to continuously expand your skillset.
- You will also be responsible for various critical demos/evals, internal product qualifications/development, technical solution optimization and documentation, technical paper publication when needed, and conduct internal and external training.
- To carry out this role you will need to travel internationally (up to 60% of your time depending on the company's business needs, especially during your junior years) to collaborate with our colleagues and customer, as well as to gain valuable knowledge and experience to prepare you for greater roles and responsibilities.
Qualifications
- PhD in Microelectronics, Semiconductor Devices, Optics, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, etc.
- Fresh PhD graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. We will train you up.
- The following technical knowledge/experiences will be additional strengths in this job application:
- Knowledge of semiconductor wafer fabrication process, device process/physics.
- Experience with optical simulations, software modeling, statistics, data analysis, strongly desired.
- Programming skills, such as Python.
- Strong sense of teamwork, always willing to share and contribute, and enjoy growing together with the team.
- Ability to systemically and independently identify/troubleshoot problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Committed to excellence, quality and integrity. Highly organized, excellent project and time management skills.
