Context Of the Role

Reporting to the Deputy Finance Director, the Senior Accountant is responsible for accuracy for all of the financial transactions within the organisation, ensuring that they are in accordance with IFRS accounting standards. The ideal candidate has to be detail-oriented, time sensitive and be proactive. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work on an international stage, alongside household names, and join a rapidly growing FinTech company making a real impact on the lives of people in developed and emerging markets alike.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage and support year-end audits
  • Handle full set of accounts
  • Perform month-end closing activities
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Issue invoices for services supplied
  • Process payments for suppliers
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Post entries into Oracle accounting system
  • Update inter-company transactions and ensure inter-company balances tally across the books
  • Prior team mentoring experience and interest in team mentoring are required

Professional Experience/Qualifications 

  • Degree in accountancy or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 7 years of internal and external audit experience at Commercial environment and/or Big 4.
  • Good understanding of International and Local Accounting Standards. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work well independently and in group with tight timelines.
  • Possess “can-do” and solution-oriented attitude.
  • Proficient in MS Excel such as the use of financial formulae and pivot tables.
  • Experience in Oracle Cloud Financials is advantageous.
