What you do

  • Lead tax analysis function, with a specific focus on Securities Finance & Collateral Management businesses

  • Provide comprehensive advice on the tax implications of complex securities finance transactions – securities lending, repo, equity swaps, collateral management

  • Manage tax risks for the firm; ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations, in particular FATCA, CRS, Section 871(m) and other withholding tax obligations, related to cross-border financial transactions

  • Work closely with tax operations teams to operationalise documentation and filing requirements; ensure compliance of processes against regulatory requirements

  • Draft, review and negotiate tax provisions in legal agreements (MSLA,  GMSLA, MRA, GMRA, ISDA)

  • Review changes in tax regulations and implications for sec finance business, specifically in the listed securities markets; provide actionable updates to business leadership and changes required to internal processes

  • Represent OCBC in various industry-specific advocacy forums

  • Represent Global Markets in tax audits and discussions with tax authorities together with Group Tax teams.

Who you are

  • 7-10 years of experience in tax law (focused on securities finance or financial products) or practical experience with custodian operations and specific tax-related matters

  • Strong understanding of corporate tax, financial products tax and international tax treaties

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; able to explain complex concepts to non-practitioners (such as traders, clients)

  • You are detail-oriented and able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • You are a proactive communicator with a collaborative mindset.
