The SFMC Specialist manages Salesforce Marketing Cloud operations, provides client guidance, assesses solution feasibility, and optimizes campaigns.
Role Overview
The SFMC Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end maintenance, operation, and optimization of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform. This role ensures platform stability, supports client enablement, assesses technical feasibility for new requests, and drives continuous improvement in marketing automation and campaign delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Maintenance & Operations
- Ensure continuous availability, performance, and security of Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance of Automation Studio, Journey Builder, Email Studio, and other SFMC modules.
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to data sync, send failures, and integration anomalies.
- Coordinate with internal teams to apply platform updates, patches, and resolve system bugs.
- Client Guidance & Enablement
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on SFMC functionalities and best practices.
- Guide clients on using SFMC modules to achieve marketing objectives (e.g., email personalization, journey automation).
- Support onboarding and training sessions for client teams on campaign management and reporting.
- Translate client requirements into SFMC capabilities and workflows.
- Feasibility Assessment & Solution Advisory
- Assess new marketing or integration requests for technical feasibility within SFMC.
- Evaluate compatibility of proposed solutions with existing data models, automation flows, and business rules.
- Provide effort estimation, solution options, and highlight possible constraints to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with architects or developers to design scalable and sustainable solutions.
- Campaign Support & Optimization
- Monitor campaign performance and provide insights or recommendations for optimization.
- Documentation & Process Improvement
- Maintain documentation of configurations, processes, and changes within the system.
- Propose and implement improvements to streamline operational workflows and reduce manual overhead.
- Stay updated on new SFMC features and releases, advising clients on potential adoption.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Email Studio, Automation Studio, Journey Builder, Contact Builder, and Content Builder.
- Strong understanding of data extensions, subscriber management, and marketing automation.
- Technical troubleshooting and maintenance skills, especially in resolving platform issues (e.g., data sync errors, send failures).
- Excellent client communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to translate business requirements into platform capabilities and explain technical concepts in a business-friendly manner.
- Experience in feasibility analysis and solution design for marketing and integration requests.
- Critical thinking to assess options, limitations, and suggest scalable solutions.
