Your role and responsibilities
Responsible for the sales of ABB products, systems, and services for the Pulp, Paper and Fiber Business Line, Process Industries, based in Singapore and supporting customers across selected Southeast Asia markets. The role achieves both qualitative and quantitative sales targets to ensure sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. The role identifies and develops new sales opportunities, with a primary focus on Pulp & Paper, Fiber, and related process industries in the assigned regional markets.
The work model for the role is: hybrid, #LI-hybrid
This role is contributing to the Pulp, Paper and Fiber Business Line in South East Asia.
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive sustainable sales growth and achieve order, revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction targets.

  • Build, manage, and continuously improve a healthy sales pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and opportunity progression.

  • Establish and strengthen relationships with key customer stakeholders across management, operations, engineering, maintenance, and procurement functions.

  • Identify customer challenges, understand business drivers, and position ABB solutions to create measurable customer value.

  • Lead sales opportunities throughout the entire sales cycle, from opportunity qualification to negotiation and order closure.

  • Drive proposal development and commercial discussions, ensuring alignment on technical, pricing, contractual, risk, and delivery requirements.

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, market segments, and growth initiatives within the assigned territory or industry.

  • Collaborate with local, regional, and cross-functional teams to leverage ABB's full portfolio, share market intelligence, and deliver a superior customer experience.

Qualifications for the role

  • Apply basic knowledge of industrial automation and electrical systems and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn ABB Pulp, Paper & Fiber solutions through training and field exposure.

  • Strong listening and consultative skills, with the ability to understand customer challenges, identify root causes, and position ABB as a trusted solution provider by recommending value-added solutions that address customer needs.

  • Willing and able to support service-related activities when required, including site visits, troubleshooting support, customer discussions.

  • Build strong customer relationships and manage sales opportunities effectively, understanding customer challenges and supporting sustainable business growth.

  • Support opportunity, tender, and proposal management by collaborating with technical and commercial teams to deliver competitive, value-driven solutions.

  • Demonstrate commercial awareness and a solution-selling mindset, including basic understanding of pricing, profitability, and customer value creation.

  • Show initiative, curiosity, and a strong self-learning attitude, while actively identifying customer pain points and translating them into actionable solutions.

  • Champion Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) by adhering to ABB safety standards and maintaining a safety-first approach in all customer and site activities.

  • Collaborate effectively with service, technical, and proposal teams, and work comfortably in industrial environments such as customer sites, mills, and production facilities.

  • Be willing to travel across Southeast Asia for customer engagement and learning opportunities, with strong Microsoft Office skills and effective communication in Mandarin and English
