You will oversee a portfolio of Singapore-based marine clients, with a focus on managing existing accounts and driving the acquisition of new business opportunities. You will develop and implement sales strategies aligned with global PPG marine directives to achieve targeted growth goals. You are expected to travel locally often to meet clients. Occasional international travel may be required for business meetings. You will be reporting to the Sales Director, based in Singapore.

Main Responsibilities

  • Meet key performance indicators, including revenue growth, profitability, and collection of accounts receivables.
  • Collaborate with global PPG teams to identify and capitalize on cross-border opportunities by leveraging connections across the marine ecosystem, including ship managers, owners, and operators.
  • Provide advice on industry trends, asset preservation strategies, operational cost reduction, and sustainability plans.
  • Maintain and use client data within internal CRM platforms, such as Salesforce and Quotation Manager, to lead account management.
  • Develop pricing strategies to improve balance among sales growth, profit margins, and overall business performance.
  • Partner with Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Technical Services teams to ensure seamless order processing, accurate forecasting, and efficient service delivery.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills by managing multiple priorities, including submission of reports, compliance documentation, and customer engagements.
  • Identify opportunities to promote new products, strengthen customer relationships through follow-ups, and cultivate long-term business partnerships.
  • Analyse sales performance data, interpret market trends, and develop relevant strategies.
  • Commitment to upholding PPG’s EHS and compliance policies, demonstrating high integrity and adherence to the PPG Code of Ethics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marine engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in sales, the marine industry, or coatings, with a successful track record managing portfolio valued at USD 4–5 million.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, BI tools, and digital platforms required for hybrid work environments, including remote and on-site collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams and independently to meet critical deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address client needs and resolve complex challenges.
  • Exceptional people skills and a proactive attitude toward building client relationships.
