To support our continued growth in the Airports and Parcel sectors, we are seeking a dynamic Sales Consultant to join our team.

About the Role:
As a Sales Consultant, you will play a key role in driving sales success during the bidding phase, particularly within the Airports and Parcel sectors. Collaborating closely with the Sales Manager and leading the Sales Engineering team, you will be responsible for identifying customer needs, developing optimal logistics solutions, and presenting these proposals to clients. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that the solutions align with customer business goals while also achieving commercial success.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the concept stage of sales projects, guiding a multidisciplinary team (engineering, simulation, planning, service, etc.) to develop innovative system designs.
  • Design conceptual solutions for medium to large projects, using throughput data, process analysis, and customer requirements.
  • Translate conceptual solutions into high-level system designs and process workflows, ensuring alignment with technical requirements.
  • Manage internal and external acceptance of proposed solutions, ensuring the integrity of the design throughout implementation and operation phases.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a key discussion partner and influencing decision-makers at tactical and strategic levels.
  • Take ownership of the accuracy and validation of sales prices, ensuring solutions are cost-effective and meet margin targets.
  • Identify risks early and work proactively to mitigate them.
  • Act as a business advisor, helping customers understand the value of solutions and persuading them to award follow-up contracts.
  • Influence market segments and position products in line with Vanderlande's strategic direction, particularly for Airports and Parcel sectors.
  • Drive innovation by implementing new or improved processes, methodologies, and tools within sales projects.
  • Travel internationally up to 20% of the time.

Your Qualifications:

  • Master’s (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Electro-mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in designing baggage handling systems (BHS) or material handling systems for parcels.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex logistics problems and design appropriate solutions.
  • Demonstrated sales acumen, with experience influencing design strategies and pricing decisions.
  • Ability to lead and coach Sales Engineers, providing functional leadership within bid teams.
  • Skilled at building professional relationships with customers and internal teams, influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working in dynamic, international environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% globally.

What We Offer:

  • A dynamic and innovative work environment with a focus on Airports and Parcel sectors.
  • Opportunities for growth and development within a leading global company.
  • A collaborative culture that values continuous improvement and drives success.
