Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for a Sales Advisor 

  

We are seeking a Sales Advisor who will serve as the primary point of contact for customers interested in our Ship Services products. The ideal candidate will excel at guiding customers in product selection and purchase methods. 

In this role, you will oversee specific high-value or predefined inquiries and orders. You will collaborate closely with our Order Processing Centers and Operations team to ensure seamless handling of customer transactions. 

By leveraging customer insights, you will contribute to enhancing the overall value provided to customers and driving our sales growth. This will involve utilizing the tools and knowledge acquired about each customer, as well as nurturing strong and enduring relationships. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor, capable of delivering exceptional customer service. Moreover, you will actively boost sales by initiating follow-ups on orders, enhancing the purchasing experience, and identifying new leads and opportunities for cross-selling and upselling.  

Who you will be reporting to:  

The position reports to the Customer Services Manager or Customer Support Manager and must closely cooperate with Sales, Order Processing Centres and Operations.    

  

 What you will be doing:   
  • Advise and support customers on what to buy, where to buy, why to buy and how to buy through good commercial and technical guidance  
  • Proactively follow up enquiries and RFQs and capture sales opportunities through quotes 
  • Identify and actively pursue sales opportunities  
  • Actively promote sales campaigns, promotions and initiatives to customers  
  • Work closely with the customers, understanding their needs and supporting their requirements related to the total WSS customer offer  
  • Capture customer specific information and requirements in the system and work proactively with customers to help them standardize their requests 
  • Assist Order Processing Coordinators with interpreting the RFQs and POs and with seeking technical advice if appropriate 
  • Process certain high value and pre-defined enquiries and orders from customers as per global processes and targets
  • Ensure customers are informed of changes in the order delivery status, surcharges and any other relevant information 
  • Ensure appropriate problem solving and close cooperation with other functions internally in order to fulfil customer needs in the most efficient way 
  • Update Account Managers, Sales Support and Credit on all key issues relating to their customers  
  • Handle warranty claims, product return and change in cylinder ownership as per prevailing policies and procedures  
  • Follow up complaints/non-compliances through the improvement/complaint system in place  
What you need to be successful in this role:  
  • Relevant education and/or relevant work experience 
  • Interest/experience in the shipping industry and marine products 
  • Solid commercial understanding and sales skills, with a professional and proactive attitude  
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
