Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team in Singapore, Singapore. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and contractors. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety management plans, ensuring compliance with local and international safety standards, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety management plans in accordance with local regulations and company standards
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement
  • Review and approve Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Job Safety Risk Assessments (JSRA) submitted by contractors
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, utilizing root cause analysis techniques to prevent future occurrences
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees and contractors, ensuring a high level of safety awareness across the organization
  • Collaborate with management, employees, and external stakeholders to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate safety records and prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including lead and lag indicators
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices, incorporating them into company policies and procedures
  • Provide technical guidance and support to ensure compliance with safety requirements at project sites
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field
  • Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)
  • Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) or other MOM-recognized qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or related industries
  • In-depth knowledge of local WSH regulations, Codes of Practice, and risk management frameworks
  • Familiarity with international safety standards, such as ISO 45001
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office suite
  • First aid and emergency response training certification
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Proactive approach to safety management with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required
  • Willingness to accept a 12 months contract
