Euromonitor’s research methodology is based on the understanding that the best research is carried out as close to the source as possible and to gain best access to local information we employ Contract In-Country Analysts (ICAs) across our research markets. ICAs form a key and integral part of Euromonitor’s global research operations. Our use of contract-based workers also offers the flexibility required for the range and volume of projects which are a feature of our ad hoc research arm’s operations.
The Research Operations Team oversees ICAs (freelance), Experts (freelance) and Vendors’ full life cycle at Euromonitor. This includes recruitment, contracting and onboarding, training, project allocation, career development, evaluation, and compensation.
The ROPs Associate advisor is tasked with the recruiting, staffing, and training of our freelance ICAs for both syndicated and consulting research teams in the APAC region. The focus of this role is primarily managing the health of our regional ICA pool, but also supporting other activities related to research operations.
Key responsibilities
Recruitment (60%):
- To leverage best sources for each country in which we operate and improve processes for recruiting/onboarding ICAs and vendors.
- To ensure we can meet all ICA’s recruitment needs across the assigned countries in the region, working closely with the regional ROPs team
- To filter incoming CVs (from applications or referrals), evaluate and test potential of candidates prior to their employment, adequately tracking all candidates´ processes
- To master and maintain applicant tracking software, files and websites, and see to their efficient and effective use by all relevant research staff
- To facilitate the onboarding of all new ICAs by providing them with our Welcome Package, setting up their EMI-U account creation and FMS profile.
- To ensure all necessary documents are accurate and stored before approving ICA profiles
Management (25%)
- To continuously learn and build understanding of industry best practices in ICA and vendor management and support operational improvements by sharing insights and observations with the team.
- To support the management of the database of our ICA and vendor resources, commensurate with research teams’ ongoing requests for these researchers.
- To ensure that ICAs and vendors are used most effectively through offices in the region.
- To ensure that ICAs are used most effectively in terms of their skill set, from store audits through to strategic analysis.
- To monitor and provide feedback on country fees to Research Managers in our syndicated and custom research teams to ensure that we are paying fees commensurate with the calibre of ICAs required
Training (15%)
- To ensure that all successful candidates have an overview of Euromonitor before starting their roles
- Coordinate periodical remote ICA live training sessions
- Support other ICA training initiatives and tools, such as Euromonitor University or potential training gaps studies
- To gather and analyse feedback from ICAs and Project Managers to improve training curriculums for our external contributors
- To participate in the creation or in managing the creation of new training content to keep deepening the pool in terms of expertise
Requirements
- Right to work in Singapore
- Experience interviewing and/or recruiting
- Experience with Project Management
- Experience working in international environment
- Good Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- BA/BSc with at least 2 years of experience
- Proficiency in English
Other desired knowledge and skills
- Proficiency in Japanese or Mandarin would be a plus but not mandatory to liaise with counterparts based in APAC
- Vendor management experience, such as survey providers, staffing firms, and fieldwork partners, is preferred.
- Proven training, research and/or consulting experience is advantageous
- Experience with software as a service including MS Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power BI
