Hyundai-NTU-A*STAR Corporate Lab is an advanced R&D facility specializing in development of world leading automotive technologies. We are looking for a Research Engineer to support the research in Hyundai-NTU Corp Lab, specifically in the area of hardware design, assembly and control of versatile end effectors for manufacturing lines.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal and external research partners to design, develop, and automate end effectors for manufacturing systems
Conduct technical investigations into design concepts and manipulation strategies for end effector applications
Support prototype development, hardware assembly, and system integration
Plan and carry out experimental testing on end effectors using real-world components
Analyse test results and prepare technical reports and presentations
Contribute to continuous improvement of system performance and reliability
Requirements:
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree in a relevant field
Technical Skills & Competencies
Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
CAD design and mechanical system development
Hardware assembly and prototyping
Microcontroller or PLC programming
Robotics and automation systems
Basic programming or firmware development experience is advantageous
Other Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Good problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience
Open to entry-level candidates
Prior experience in robotics, automation, or hands-on hardware/firmware development is an advantage
