If so, the Research & Development Associate position at the Leidos Air Traffic Management (ATM) Research and Collaboration Centre in Singapore will allow you to research, develop, and implement cutting-edge technology that will change the world and nature of air traffic management.

Leidos is a world leader in developing air traffic management solutions and has proven itself in the United States by implementing large contracts to supply the Federal Aviation Administration with a robust Air Traffic Management System (En Route Air Modernization) and a tactical flow management system (Time-Based Flow Management). Now, Leidos’ international offering combines the best of both in the form of the SkyLine-X™ ATM system.

Leidos is now taking the next step to expand its footprint in the Asia Pacific region. Establishing the Leidos Air Traffic Management (ATM) Research and Collaboration Centre in Singapore enables Leidos to collaborate with regional research institutes and partners to explore and develop new concepts to optimize air traffic management and enhance safety.

Joining us will allow you to:

• Expand your knowledge of existing and upcoming, cutting-edge Leidos technologies being developed for countries around the world including the US and Singapore to solve the most complex Air Traffic Management problems,

• Be at the forefront of next generation ICAO initiatives and programs that will revolutionize air traffic management

• Challenge yourself to solve problems that are influenced by political, technological, social, economic and environmental concerns

• Work with a team of driven and forward-thinking individuals in Singapore and the United States

Research & Development Associate responsibilities:

• Conduct research on optimization techniques and machine learning models relevant to transportation systems.

• Experience / background in in Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems and/or aviation is a bonus.

• Collect, process, and analyze air traffic data relevant to the project.

• Develop or use existing simulation platforms to validate the developed algorithms and models.

• Analyses simulation data and create visualizations to support research findings.

• Design and build prototypes or intelligent tools

• Collaborate effectively with industry and academic partners to integrate AI models into ATM decision support systems.

• Participate in project meetings, prepare research reports, and contribute to high-impact publications in leading academic conferences and journals.

• Assist in drafting project proposals and preparing technical documentation.

• Support the Lead Research Manager on assigned project management tasks.

Job Requirements:

• Degree / Advanced degree in Optimization, Artificial Intelligence, Software, Transportation or Aerospace Engineering.

• Evidence of creation of predictive algorithms using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applied to domains that use, among other data, historical data, to train the AI/ML model

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience

• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C/C++.

• Good English writing and communication skills for research work.

• Proactive and a self-starter

• Independent and team player

• Singaporean Citizenship
