We are looking for a Research Assistant to undertake the responsibilities towards the development of new photopolymers and biomaterials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • RA (polymer chemist) will be hired to manage the development of novel bioadhesives formulations and work with laboratory personnel towards the objectives listed within the relevant grant funding.

  • Synthesis and characterization of functional polyacrylate composites using novel photoinitiator chemistry.

  • Project management with ability to generate technical reports, journal papers, and liase with industrial collaborators.

  • Maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers.

  • Assist or Produce high quality reports and documents that consolidate research findings

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Materials-, Organic- or Polymer Chemistry from an internationally accredited institution.

  • Minimum one year of industrial or academic research experience in polymer research, materials science, or adhesives.

  • Skills relating to photochemistry, photoinitiators, free radical polymerization, vat polymerization.

  • Familiar with polymer characterization techniques such as SEC, XPS, NMR, FTIR

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong initiatives.

  • Evidence of project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong record of scientific publications in high impact academic journals.
