Overview of the role
Euromonitor International seeks talented individuals looking to further their career in market research. Applicants will need to have knowledge of consumer trends and the lifestyle issues which surround, impact and influence consumers in the region.
As part of the Syndicated research team, you will study and build data expertise across a myriad of industry sectors. This role sits within the Project Delivery’s Regional Data team, where you will build foundational skills and deep data expertise across consumer goods and services industries in Asia Pacific.
How do Analysts / Senior Analysts make an impact?
As a data-centric analyst, you will work with Euromonitor data assets including company financials, forecasting models cross market datasets. You will collaborate closely with regional research teams to enhance our Passport database, guide clients through data interpretation, and support analysis. Their work will contribute directly to Euromonitor’s syndicated database - Passport - that informs and guides our clients’ strategy across product categories, industries and geographies.
Analysts contribute to Euromonitor’s data assets: high quality, data driven intelligence. You will:
- Build industry expertise using company information, public domain and structured data sources.
- Analyse company financial information and gain in-depth company knowledge to enrich competitive landscapes.
- Support category and industry forecasts using Euromonitor’s proprietary forecasting frameworks and macroeconomic indicators.
- Produce analytical narratives and insights that help clients understand market dynamics and strategic opportunities.
Analysts / Senior Analysts work as a team under the supervision of their Research Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently analyse category, company and channel datasets to identify trends, structural shifts and anomalies. Update and maintain structured datasets for assigned industries. Cross‑check data from multiple sources and flag inconsistencies or anomalies for review.
- Conduct deeper‑level validation using financial statements and competitive data. Analyse company financial statements to assess corporate performance and validate Passport estimates.
- Develop country(ies) & industry nuances on macroeconomic and consumer behaviour by validating forecast inputs.
- Gain expertise in proprietary Euromonitor’s forecast model and platform. Use quantitative reasoning to identify demand drivers and shifts across markets and deliver forecast data.
- Interpret forecast outputs and collaborate with senior forecast members to refine model inputs.
- Independently manage assigned categories’ research workflows, ensuring timely completion of data cycles, checks and submissions.
- Navigate internal systems, platforms and validation tools with confidence, resolving common issues without escalation.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks, quality risks or recurrent data issues and recommend improvements.
- Apply strong judgement when selecting and validating sources, ensuring compliance with Euromonitor’s data governance standards.
- Maintain up‑to‑date source lists with clear rationale for inclusion or removal.
- Develop familiarity with central systems (e.g., data‑entry tools, company pipelines, forecast systems) to contribute to process improvements.
- Ensure all methodological steps and data decisions are documented clearly to support transparency and auditability.
- Support client conversations by explaining data methodologies, forecast logic, and category insights.
- As expertise develops, key responsibilities will evolve further to include strategic industry analysis, client meetings and presentations, industry presentations and liaison (such as conferences), and other industry related work
Requirements
- Right to work in Singapore
- Strong primary and secondary research skills.
- Excellent synthesis skills to convert qualitative and quantitative inputs into meaningful insights.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex data simply.
- Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
- Strong data literacy with the ability to work independently with structured datasets, trends and model outputs.
- Strong secondary research skills with the ability to synthesise data across complex sources.
- Ability to translate raw data into coherent, well structured findings and strategic implications.
- Understand and interpret both hard drivers (macroeconomic indicators, demographic trends, income, pricing) and soft drivers (consumer sentiment, innovation cycles, regulation, competitive behaviours) across industries.
- High proficiency in Excel; familiarity with analytical tools or programming (e.g., SQL, Python) is a plus.
