About the role We are looking to grow our licensed technology portfolio business in our existing markets as well as by bringing in new technologies that serve emerging growth segments, with a specific focus on growing the sustainable fuels and oleochemicals segments.Achieving our growth objectives requires a strong sales force that is focused on identifying and delivering new opportunities in a changing world as well as a strong local execution team. The ideal candidate has relevant sales experience in technology solutions and is passionate about winning, leadership, and results.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Develop a business plan for the area of responsibility with a focus on increasing market share and identifying new opportunities for Sulzer GTC; monitor and report progress regularly.
- Work closely with business segment leaders to develop business in assigned area of responsibility and assure accurate forecast for order intake. Share market feedback toward business segment leaders to further develop the technology portfolio. Carry out market research, analysis, and sales forecasting and gather competitive intelligence and provide market feedback and technology requirements to technology managers.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities including a leading involvement in the sales and pricing strategy while leading the risk assessment process.
- Support clients in creating new unplanned projects through early engagement with them to understand needs and develop responding value propositions.
- Establish strong relationships with other business groups in Sulzer to identify additional opportunities for increased collaboration across the complete solution portfolio.
- Issue commercial proposal, incorporate commercial terms in agreements and structure deals with customers in close cooperation with business segment leaders
- In consultation with other team members, determine the sales strategy for individual proposals and assure adequate staffing of the proposal effort is in place.
- Closely review contract terms and conditions and coordinate reviews with the legal and financial department. Lead the negotiations of agreements with customers by coordinating with legal and other internal functions.
- Coordinate with the technical services team to identify and deliver growth opportunities in aftermarket sales.
- Prepare commercial offers and give client presentations for technology sales.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and enforce all standards set for performance.
- Support implementation and correct usage of forecasting tools.
Educational background & professional experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Process or Chemical engineering preferred
- Professional sales experience in a similar business environment or a technology license type business
- Knowledge of refinery and petrochemical industries.
- Knowledge of renewable fuels and/or plastics recycling industries.
