Make your mark in Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory (GLCR)

Our Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory (GLCR) team provides first class advice to colleagues and functions across the organization – ensuring AIG navigates an ever-changing landscape that spans state, federal, and international lines. The team has a multi-dimensional impact, from helping avoid legal exposure to collaborating with other functions to develop cutting-edge new products.

How you will create an impact

Regional responsibilities

  • Assume role of Assistant Company Secretary of regional holding company. There is external corporate secretarial support for filings only.
  • Work with country counsel to ensure compliance with AIG policies on Corporate Governance
  • Work with headquarters in NY on corporate secretarial, corporate governance matters including drafting of memos for appointments of INEDs and employee directors.
  • Support Asia Governance Counsel in global and regional projects and initiatives e.g. projects to outsource services across APAC
  • Prepare quarterly regulatory alerts, working together with local counsel
  • Review agreements and other legal documentation relating to any transaction/project/initiative ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations 
  • Advise stakeholders on day-to-day matters
  • Update in-house database on incorporations, share transfers, liquidations and de-registrations with support from regulatory secretary

Singapore insurance entity responsibilities

  • Support facilitation of Nomination and Remuneration Committees of Singapore insurance entity including preparation of meeting packs
  • Support facilitation of MAS Annual Visit
  • Support Asia Governance Counsel on training for APAC Directors
  • Keep abreast of regulatory and legislative changes impacting the Singapore insurance entity particularly in relation to corporate governance matters.
  • Keep track of appointments/resignations of directors/key executives
  • Prepare applications for MAS approval to appoint key executives
  • Perform gap analysis against new regulations/legislation
  • Ensure timely notifications to authorities, compliance with statutory filings and MAS requirements
