Job Description

Team Summary

The Regional Business Development team is responsible for growing acceptance through sales of Visa’s acceptance solutions (checkout, processing, fraud and other digital solutions) throughout the Asia Pacific (AP) region. In addition to self prospecting, this team also works closely with Acceptance Solutions market leads, Marketing and other Visa teams (e.g. Commercial Money Movement) to identify Attack (net new prospects) and where appropriate, Grow (expansion) opportunities with regional merchants, acquirers and payment service providers. 

The key measures of success include, but are not limited to, Annual Average Net Revenue (bookings), Net Revenue, Committed Revenue and sales of Visa innovations such as Token Management Services, Unified Checkout, etc. 

What a Regional Business Development Director does at Visa

  • Proactively identifies prospects, drives pipeline development, manages the sales process and close wins new business
  • Develop regional sales strategy (e.g. verticals, GTM, pricing, etc.)
  • Prospecting through desktop research, participation at industry events, generation of content on social platforms, etc.
  • Effectively lead revenue generation by developing Customer Success Plans that are aligned with clients’ expectations/secures their commitment, as well as internal resources (e.g. Sales Engineering) thereby accelerating time to revenue
  • Designs and executes strategic sales plans and campaigns partnering with Marketing, Tech Partnerships, other Acceptance Solutions and Visa colleagues to attract, qualify and progress regional prospects and expansion opportunities. This may include collaborating with Acceptance Solutions colleagues in other regions to win a global acceptance opportunity
  • Meets or exceeds challenging sales goals
  • Actively contributes to the evolving business and product strategy
  • Lead or support completion and presentation of RFPs and RFIs
  • Work closely with our Product Management team to maintain technical and functional knowledge of existing and new products and actively contribute to the evolving business and product strategy
  • May have future direct report responsibilities to develop and coach team members for effective delivery of their responsibilities
  • Design and execute tactical sales campaigns and/or generate case studies/PR to drive awareness of how our solutions powers our clients’ business
  • Travel will be required

This is a hybrid position. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office at least three days a week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree (MBA desired)
  • Fluent in English (Mandarin desirable)
  • 10+ years of B2B enterprise software or technology consultative sales experience
  • Experience in the eCommerce, merchant and payment industries
  • Experience selling technology to a specific list of targeted accounts
  • Strong written and verbal communication and excellent presentation skills
  • Strong background with demonstrated success closing high volume business
  • Experience with managing longer sales cycles and driving multiple simultaneous opportunities to success
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Strong negotiation skills
