Job Family Definition:

Responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining quality engineering protocols and methods for building, assembly and test transforming materials into partially finished or finished products. Ensures compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution. Designs methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products. Performs analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to design, test, manufacturing, quality standards and procedures when necessary. Recommends performance objectives for engineering, test, manufacturing, product and design functions. May assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards (i.e. Six Sigma, Lean Sigma and others).

Management Level Definition:

Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • The engineer would monitor and assess the performance metrics of manufacturing partners. This will involve tracking KPI such as yield and DPPM, etc. that ensure partner is meeting HPE performance goal.

  • The engineer would closely with manufacturing partner to resolve any quality issues that might affect customer experience. This could involve addressing defects, ensuring consistency in product quality, and providing feedback to improve processes
  • The engineer would drive continuous improvement project or initiative.
  • He or she will identify area for improvement in the manufacturing processes and work with manufacturing partners to implement changes that enhance quality and efficiency. This could includes manufacturing best practices, six-sigma projects or other quality improvement methodology.
  • This role will require close collaboration with cross-functional team, that ensure all aspects of quality are addressed. Clear and effective communication is essential to align on quality goal and resolves any issues that arise.
  • Designs and integrates quality requirements, processes, and practices into the development, design, manufacturing, and continuous improvement of products or solutions for a customer segment or business unit.
  • Analyzes and reviews new product and solution designs and specifications for potential quality issues; provides tangible feedback and proposes changes to improve product quality and minimize risk of failures.
  • Reviews reports, test data, and process results for assigned components and subsystems to identify trends and issues, perform root-cause analysis, and develop recommendations for resolution
  • Communicates product and process issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborates with management, internal, and outsourced manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to product or process to reduce defects and improve quality.
  • Represents the quality engineering team for all phases of larger and more- complex development and manufacturing projects.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent Lean, Six Sigma green belt or equivalent preferred.
  • Typically 4-6 years experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Using engineering tools and software packages to test, design, and evaluate products and processes.
  • Strong analytical, statistics, and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of material properties, hardware and electrical component design and manufacture, and industry quality standards and methodologies.
  • Proficient in Data Analytics or Visualization tools will be an advantaged
  • Using empirical and root- cause analysis, modeling, and testing methodologies to validate product designs, specifications, and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate quality plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at management levels.
