JOB SUMMARY

To assist the QA manager in ensuring best practices pertaining to the use of quality tools are driven into all areas of Jabil South, with primary focus on the manufacturing floor. Drive the training and proper use of quality tools at Jabil South. Recruiting of Quality Department staff. Planning for the future/defining the role of the QA Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Management System (QMS) – Medical & Non Medical

•            Support the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with:

o            Medical: ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820, EU MDR (as applicable)

o            Non Medical: ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements

•            Ensure alignment of QMS processes with regulatory, statutory, and customer requirements.

•            Assist in managing document control, ensuring controlled creation, review, approval, distribution, and archival of SOPs, work instructions, and quality records.

•            Support internal and external audits (certification, regulatory, customer), including audit preparation, execution, and follow-up.

•            Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), root cause analysis (RCA), and effectiveness verification.

•            Monitor QMS performance indicators and support management review activities.

Supplier Quality Management

•            Support qualification, evaluation, and ongoing monitoring of suppliers and contract manufacturers.

•            Coordinate supplier audits, risk assessments, and performance reviews.

•            Manage supplier-related issues including incoming quality, deviations, SCARs, and containment actions.

•            Ensure supplier compliance with quality agreements, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

•            Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to reduce defects, variation, and delivery risks.

MES & Shopfloor Quality Control

•            Support quality integration with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

•            Ensure correct implementation of electronic batch records, quality checks, and traceability at shopfloor level.

•            Monitor real-time quality data from MES to identify process deviations, trends, and nonconformities.

•            Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to enforce process discipline and data integrity.

•            Support continuous improvement through data-driven quality insights from shopfloor systems.

Product Quality & Process Control

•            Ensure effective product and process quality control throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

•            Support process validation, equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and change control activities.

•            Monitor incoming, in process, and final inspection activities to ensure conformance.

•            Support nonconformance management, deviation handling, and risk assessment (FMEA).

•            Drive yield improvement, defect reduction, and right first time initiatives.

•            Participate in new product introduction (NPI), transfer, and scale-up activities.

Continuous Improvement & Risk Management

•            Support implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and risk-based thinking across quality and manufacturing processes.

•            Analyze quality trends, KPIs, and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities.

•            Promote proactive quality mindset and prevention-focused approaches.

•            Support cost of poor quality (COPQ) reduction initiatives.

People Management, Coaching & Leadership

•     Assist Quality Manager in leading, mentoring, and developing quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians.

•     Support resource planning, workload prioritization, and performance management within the quality team.

•     Deliver or coordinate quality-related training to cross-functional teams.

•     Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

•     Act as a role model for ethical behavior, compliance, and quality excellence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

•     Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure robust quality outcomes.

•     Assist Quality Manager in cross-functional meetings, escalations, and decision-making forums.

•     Support customer interactions related to quality issues, audits, and improvement initiatives.

  • Monitor/evaluate level of involvement of QA Department activities and effects on F4, efficiencies and continuous improvement.

  • Participate in planning long term/short term functions of the department to support Jabil.

  • Manage all Quality Department operational metrics to drive continuous improvement.

  • Plan/justify departmental budget.

  • Evaluate/schedule/prepare training activities.

  • Recruit, lead, coach, manage, QA Department staff.

  • Evaluate effectiveness of the management system at Jabil South – improve as necessary.

  • Drive profit loss issues to drive improvement of Jabil’s market position.

  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.

  • Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

·         Proficient and knowledgeable in all areas related to the Quality Assurance function.

·         Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control and PCB assembly process, results orientated attitude, achieve through team concept skills / activities.

·         Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry.

·         Strong proficiency in determining logistics requirements to enable company’s business goals and objectives with ability to devise and implement strategy to achieve targets.

·         Strong financial and analytical ability. Proficiency in managing business analytics to determine optimum company footprint.

·         Strong knowledge of international direct and indirect taxes as well as global customs regimes.

·         Proven track record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous productivity and cost reduction programs.

·         Strong and convincing communication skills.

·         Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

·         BA/BS preferred.

·         10 – 15  years experience in quality related field.

·         Additional 2 – 5  years managerial experience.
