About The Job

This role will ensure continued development of manufacturing processes in line with Alfa Laval Production System (ALPS) and Lean Six Sigma principles and objectives, while also to train & facilitate proper use of boards and processes in ALPS.

Primary Function

  • Successfully drives, facilitate, and coach  the Alfa Laval Production Systems (ALPS) approach in the distribution center of Singapore by providing strategic and transformational expertise through the deployment of Alfa Laval Production Systems, related tools and thought processes.

  • Acts as the key subject matter expert on process improvement initiatives in sustainability, quality, delivery and cost.

  • Presents recommendation and quality progress reports to factory manager.

  • Provides mentoring, coaching and project management leadership to team members within a local or functional level.

  • Responsible for creating an environment and assisting leadership and customers in the timely and successful completion of cost effective, strategic project and business improvement opportunities.

  • Support organisation(s) to meet their strategic objectives in sustainability, quality, delivery and cost.

  • Assumes leadership role as the key continuous improvement driver in a learn and do approach.

  • Direct interface with key leadership and functional experts providing insight and advice on Business Process Improvement approaches to strategic business challenges.

  • Stays current in the field through continuous learning, and internal and external benchmarking activities.

  • Influences projects and business improvement initiatives to directly contribute to stated strategic objectives.

  • Critically reviews and coach others on effective use of Business Process Improvement Methodology and Tools, example VSM, QMS etc

  • Manages the ALPS installation Certification process for continued learning and organizational capability development in ALPS and Quality.

Major Responsibilities

  • Support Factory Manager to define Operational Excellence strategies and goals,

  • Develop and provide strategic direction for overall Supplier Quality of Singapore distribution center, including cost of poor quality, quality assurance, regulatory compliance and part conformance.

  • Articulate and act on the Operations Excellence strategy

  • Serve as a role model for ALPS and Quality behaviors and values.

  • Managing internal/external audits including setup, coordination and successful follow up with the cells. This includes the identification and implementation of QMS processes and tools to enable continued success with customers

  • Managing the communications and access to information from the QMS program and projects through various tools and approaches such as SharePoint web pages, reports and ACT

  • Promote Class A behavior in sustainability.

  • Coordinate and drive Quality/VSM/5S/Gemba.

  • Lead Lean Six Sigma projects to improve quality, reduce cycle times and reduce cost and achieve customer satisfaction.

  • Lead Green Belt program, advocate training and Kaizen on site.

  • Teach, influence and motivate staff to apply Lean Six Sigma tools for problem solving.

  • Create an open environment for learning and facilitate ALPS training.

  • Network with other Sites/Functions to exchange knowledge and good practice both internally and externally.

  • Cultivate the continuous improvement culture in Alfa Laval.

  • Report monthly scorecard results and provide gap analysis when there is a deviation.

  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

What You Know

  • At least a Diploma in Engineering or Science with 4-5 years relevant working experience.

  • Strong and sound knowledge in the concept of Lean Six sigma and Quality Assurance.

  • Good analytical and technical problem-solving skills.

  • Good People communication skills.

  • Strong Project Management and Facilitation skills.

  • At least Green Belt or above Certification is a must.

  • Strong trainer capability.

  • Proven influencing and negotiating ability.

  • Coaching and mentoring ability.

  • Positive Can-Do attitude.
