Manage end-to-end procurement for marine operations: source suppliers, negotiate contracts and delivery terms, coordinate with internal teams, maintain records, track orders with logistics and finance, and drive continuous improvement in purchasing processes.
Royal Ocean Marine is seeking a dedicated Purchaser to join our client's procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficient sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain coordination to support our client's marine operations. You will liaise with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet operational requirements. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to procurement challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement activities from requisition to delivery, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to secure the best value and quality.
- Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and terms with vendors effectively.
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand and fulfill purchasing needs.
- Maintain up-to-date procurement records and reports.
- Collaborate with logistics and finance teams to track orders and resolve discrepancies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent qualification, preferably in Supply Chain Management or related disciplines.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the maritime, shipping, or related industries.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with procurement systems or ERP software.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
