Maintains, calibrates, troubleshoots, and upgrades instrumentation, control, and automation equipment at a water reclamation plant. Supports PLC, DCS, and SCADA operations; coordinates contractors and vendors; prepares maintenance plans, specifications, budgets, permits, risk assessments, and safe work procedures; and contributes to cybersecurity compliance, digitalization, and continuous improvement.
[What the role is]
As Assistant Engineer for Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) with Jurong Water Reclamation Plant, your responsibilities would include the following:[What you will be working on]
- Perform routine, preventive and predictive maintenance on ICA equipment including transmitters, sensors, analysers, flow meters, pressure gauges, and temperature controllers.
- Conduct calibration and verification of instruments in accordance with established procedures and schedules.
- Troubleshoot and rectify instrumentation faults, and assist in emergency preparedness and maintenance works to minimise operational downtime.
- Support the operation and maintenance of PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems, and assist in configuration, programming and testing of control systems.
- Assist in the implementation of system upgrades, modifications and cybersecurity compliance for ICA systems.
- Assist in the planning of inspection/maintenance programs, preparation of specifications, scope of works and cost estimates for ICA projects.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and OEMs for equipment procurement, installation and commissioning.
- Track Works Orders/Purchase Orders and assist in the preparation and review of maintenance budget to ensure timely closure and expenditure is utilised in accordance with plan.
- Ensure all works comply with safety regulations and statutory requirements, including preparation of Notification Permit to Work, Risk Assessment (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
- Support innovation, digitalisation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Plant safety, operation and maintenance.
[What we are looking for]
- Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification in relevant field.
- Candidates who have work experience with ICA systems are preferred.
