Workday Project Manager

Job Summary

The Workday Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of Workday implementation, deployment, optimization, and application management projects for clients across the APAC region. The role involves managing project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations while ensuring delivery excellence and client satisfaction.

The Project Manager will work closely with clients, Workday functional and technical consultants, partner teams, and senior leadership to drive project execution from initiation through post-production support.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership
  • Lead end-to-end Workday implementation, deployment, enhancement, and AMS projects.

  • Own overall project planning, execution, governance, and delivery.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, resource plans, and milestones.

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual commitments.

Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client project leadership.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Facilitate steering committee meetings, status reviews, and project governance sessions.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and proactively address concerns.

Delivery Management
  • Coordinate Workday functional, technical, integration, reporting, and testing workstreams.

  • Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.

  • Drive issue resolution and decision-making to maintain project momentum.

  • Oversee deployment readiness, cutover planning, and production go-live activities.

Risk & Issue Management
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.

  • Maintain RAID logs and escalation plans.

  • Ensure issues, dependencies, and assumptions are effectively managed and communicated.

  • Escalate critical project concerns to leadership as required.

Financial & Commercial Management
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource utilization.

  • Monitor project profitability and revenue recognition milestones.

  • Support contract change requests, scope management, and commercial discussions.

  • Ensure alignment between project delivery and contractual obligations.

Resource Management
  • Coordinate staffing requirements across projects.

  • Optimize resource utilization while balancing delivery commitments.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to consultants and Associate Project Managers.

  • Support talent development and succession planning within the project team.

Governance & Reporting
  • Provide regular project status reports to internal and client stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with delivery methodologies and governance frameworks.

  • Track project KPIs and delivery metrics.

  • Support leadership with portfolio reporting and account planning activities.
