Manage end-to-end project management and client servicing for branded content projects, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
Purpose of the Position:
South China Morning Post (SCMP) is looking for an experienced Freelance Project Manager with an agency or production background to join our in-house custom content team, Morning Studio. This role will focus on end-to-end project management and client servicing, with opportunities overseeing a diverse portfolio of offline and online branded content projects for clients across Hong Kong, Mainland China, and around the world.
SCMP is dedicated to elevating the conversation around Asia and China. Morning Studio works with our advertisers and brands to help develop branded content for our platform.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering exceptional service while supporting SCMP’s business and sales objectives
- Collaborate closely with sales and business development teams to manage incoming B2B and B2C projects across digital and print platforms from clients in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and abroad
- Develop, review, and monitor detailed project plans, schedules, deliverables, and feedback loops for both online and offline marketing campaigns
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client servicing and project management, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to align expectations, timelines, and deliverables
- Proactively track project progress, ensuring all stakeholders—including clients, vendors, and internal teams—are informed and aligned on feedback and deadlines
- Identify and resolve project challenges related to vendor coordination, content delivery, timelines, and communication gaps to keep projects on track
- Support strategy development for integrated marketing solutions, helping to retain and grow existing client accounts through upselling opportunities
- Manage project budgets and liaise with production vendors and freelance contributors to ensure cost-effective delivery
- Provide regular status updates and performance
- Report to a Senior Manager of Morning Studio
Qualifications and Experience:
- University degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related disciplines
- Minimum 3 years of production and client servicing experience in a creative or marketing agency, or within a production team
- Proven expertise in project management and operations, with experience managing multidisciplinary creative and production teams and external partners
- Understanding of design and production workflows across digital, video, graphic, social media, print, and custom publishing formats
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels
- Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is essential
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours as required by project schedules and events
Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
