If you're passionate about customer-centric innovation and eager to make a significant impact on technology at Grab, come join us and help shape the future of technology.
Get to Know the Role:
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Program Architect to join our Commercial Systems leadership team, operating within Grab's vibrant and extensive engineering culture. This is not a typical architect role confined to a single platform; you are a platform-agnostic leader with the appetite and ability to work closely with multiple tech families across the organization. Your mandate is to think of Salesforce as a critical component within a broader, interconnected ecosystem, establishing and leading an enterprise-wide governance function that ensures the integrity, scalability, and strategic alignment of our commercial technology stack.
Moving beyond traditional project delivery, you will be the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for our platform's long-term health and architectural vision, acting as a key collaborator and bridge-builder between Commercial Systems and other engineering domains. As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will shape our technology roadmap, enforce rigorous design standards that respect the wider ecosystem, and mentor a growing team of architects and engineers. If you are an outcome-led, big-picture thinker who thrives on solving complex enterprise challenges and wants to build a world-class governance function that integrates seamlessly into a large-scale tech organization, this role offers an unparalleled opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Workplace Type: This role will be on-site and based in the Singapore office.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform:
Platform Governance & Technical Stewardship
- Establish, charter, and chair the enterprise-wide Platform Integrity Review Board and the Platform Design Authority, serving as the ultimate decision-maker on architectural standards.
- Define, document, and enforce a unified set of architectural principles, patterns, and best practices for all commercial systems, including standards for data modeling, integration, security, and code quality.
- Own and maintain the master enterprise architecture documentation repository, including system landscape diagrams, canonical data models (ERDs), integration catalogs, and a central metadata registry for object ownership.
- Lead the non-negotiable, semi-annual Platform Hygiene Review process to proactively identify and drive the remediation of technical debt, orphan components, and configuration drift across all business units.
Strategic Roadmap & Cross-Program Leadership
- Serve as the primary technical advisor to the Head, Commercial Systems on the long-term technology roadmap, leading the evaluation and strategic assessment of new technologies (e.g., Copado, Qtest, SEON, Seismic) to ensure they align with our platform-agnostic vision.
- Provide holistic architectural oversight for all major strategic programs to ensure individual solutions are aligned, reusable, and do not introduce cross-system conflicts or platform instability.
- Partner with business stakeholders and Business Analyst leads to "shape demand," not just receive it; ensure new initiatives are architecturally vetted for feasibility, impact, and strategic fit before they are approved and enter the delivery pipeline.
- Act as the senior technical authority in all vendor governance forums, ensuring partners such as MSPs and Vendors adhere strictly to our architectural standards and that all key architecture decisions remain with the internal team.
Solution Integrity & Design Authority
- Act as the final point of technical approval for all high-level solution designs, ensuring they are scalable, secure, maintainable, and compliant with enterprise standards before any build work commences.
- Mentor and guide the Lead Solution Architect and Lead Technical Architect in the creation and adoption of robust, reusable design patterns and frameworks, elevating the quality of design across the organisation.
- Mediate and resolve architectural disagreements between project teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, making decisive, data-driven calls to protect long-term platform integrity over short-term project expediency.
Compliance, Security & Risk Management
- Partner directly with GRC, Audit, and Cyber Security teams to design and embed compliance controls (e.g., SOX, PSM for privileged access) directly into the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Own the overarching security architecture for the commercial systems landscape, including the enterprise data access model, integration security patterns, and identity and access management (IAM) strategies.
- Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate architectural risks that could impact platform performance, scalability, or security, presenting findings and remediation plans to leadership.
Mentorship & Technical Enablement
- Serve as a dedicated "player-coach" responsible for up-leveling the technical capabilities of the entire Commercial Systems team, from developers to leads.
- Establish and lead technical communities of practice (CoPs) for architecture, development, and DevOps to foster knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Define and champion the technical career progression framework for engineers and architects within the team, actively mentoring individuals to help them achieve their growth objectives.
