The CIO Alternative Investment business is responsible for the sourcing, selection, advisory, marketing and post-sales lifecycle management of both public and private market funds and investment solutions as well as discretionary and advisory portfolio management. These funds may be offered to clients (including but not limited to high / ultra-high net worth individuals, family offices, financial intermediaries), in the form of fund structures or as structured notes with the fund as the underlying.

The team is responsible for the identification (origination), selection, onboarding & due diligence, investment advisory and distribution and post-sales monitoring of third party, professionally managed, alternatives investment opportunities (including private equity, private credit, private infrastructure, private co-investments and hedge funds.

The new hire will assist in the build-out of private equity, private credit, private infrastructure, private co-investments and hedge funds (Private Market & Hedge Funds) including, but not limited to:

  • Originating & sourcing Private Market & Hedge Funds and maintaining a pipeline of Private Market & Hedge Funds to bring to the AIMS management team for discussion and consideration for potential on-boarding to BOS;
  • Performing and leading Private Market & Hedge Funds on-boarding workstreams, including but not limited to, financial, commercial, operational, tax and legal due diligence and the completion of relevant internal checklists and processes for on-boarding, all in compliance with internal BOS policies and procedures;
  • Reviewing and negotiating agreements, offering memoranda and documentation relating to the on-boarding and distribution of Private Market & Hedge Funds by BOS;
  • Managing and liaising with legal, compliance, tax advisors and other service providers for the negotiation and drafting of legal documentation relating to Private Market & Hedge Funds;
  • From time to time, provide eligible clients access to investment opportunities across a company’s different stages of growth, which may include growth capital, debt financing to anchor / cornerstone investments at IPO. These public and private transactions may be in the form of but is not limited to funds, structured notes, exchange-traded derivatives contracts or over-the-counter contracts.
  • Preparing the internal BOS operations process and support for subscriptions, closings, capital calls, distributions, other related corporate actions and reporting processes for Private Market & Hedge Funds, as necessary;
  • Preparing materials, completing relevant checklists and managing the internal approval process for the on-boarding and distribution of Private Market & Hedge Funds by BOS (including for presentation to Investment Committees), in addition to obtaining external approvals from any relevant regulatory or other relevant bodies;
  • Preparing for and managing BOS bank-wide marketing, distribution and advisory of Private Market & Hedge Funds to BOS front office staff and making presentations to clients (including, but not limited to, launch materials, education materials, hosting training events, coordinating presentations by Private Market & Hedge Funds managers to front office staff or clients);
  • Providing advisory services relating to Private Market & Hedge Funds for BOS clients in the context of changing macroeconomic environment;
  • Leading the education and training of internal parties, relationship managers and clients across Private Market Funds and strategies, and allocation to Private Market & Hedge Funds and build fluent knowledge of Private Market & Hedge Funds on the BOS platform;
  • Post on-boarding and distribution, the monitoring and reporting of Private Market & Hedge Funds investment performance, any market related activity impacting a Private Market & Hedge Funds and continued eligibility to remain on the BOS platform and formulating and actioning any required follow up with BOS stakeholders including but not limited to Investment Advisors, Relationship Managers or other internal colleagues;
  • Assisting with the monitoring and reporting of sales and revenue of Private Market & Hedge Funds;
  • Preparing investment memos and client presentation materials related to Private Market & Hedge Funds manager recommendations, fund updates and other thematic discussion topics from time to time.

Work Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 7–10 years work experience in Asset Management/Private Bank as a product specialist, with experience in client engagement and customer experience
  • Strong investment background, with solid knowledge of alternatives investments products
  • Comfortable to present investment ideas to a varied set of audience (internal and external)
  • Proven analytical capabilities and data analysis skill set
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills – Preferred to have specific experience drafting detailed investment analyses
  • Clear articulation capability of sophisticated concepts, ideas, and processes is required
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience/ Interest to develop skill set in Power BI or other business intelligence platforms
  • Self-starter with high level of attention to detail, while staying adaptable to tight deadlines
  • Desire and ability to be part of a dynamic team; a strong team-player orientation is critical

Education Requirements

  • Undergraduate or Graduate education from a prestigious institution with specialization in finance, accounting, or other analytical fields
  • CFA/CAIA holder will be an advantage
  • Candidates who have successfully completed CACS Paper 1 & 2, RES 12B, CM-CMP exams
