Help shape financial transparency in one of the world's leading international banks

At ING, we believe banking should empower people and businesses to stay a step ahead. Behind every strategic decision is high-quality financial information, trusted controls, and professionals who can transform complex data into meaningful insight.

We're looking for an experienced Product Controller to join our Finance team in Singapore, supporting Group Treasury and FX & FX Derivatives activities. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of Finance, Front Office, Market Risk and Operations, helping drive financial integrity, valuation excellence, and business performance.

The Role

As a Product Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of daily profit and loss reporting, balance sheet substantiation, valuation controls, and financial reporting. Acting as a trusted business partner, you will work closely with stakeholders across the trading floor and control functions to provide insight, challenge assumptions, and strengthen control frameworks.

You will also contribute to strategic initiatives, including system implementations, process improvements, regulatory projects, and the enhancement of reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily production and validation of P&L reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery
  • Analyse and explain key P&L movements, valuation adjustments, and market-driven impacts to senior stakeholders
  • Review trade activity and investigate pricing, valuation, cash flow, and position-related issues
  • Identify, escalate, and help resolve P&L, trade, and position discrepancies
  • Support Regional Product Control consolidation activities
  • Perform month-end activities including reconciliations, independent price verification, reserve calculations, and journal entries
  • Prepare and review materials for Local Parameter Committees covering valuation adjustments and final P&L reporting
  • Support quarter-end fair value hierarchy assessments and reporting requirements
  • Partner closely with Front Office, Market Risk, Operations, Finance, and IT teams
  • Contribute to business change initiatives, system rollouts, and process improvement projects

About the Team

The Product Control team sits within Finance and is responsible for the independent measurement, control, and assessment of ING's balance sheet and profit and loss positions.

Operating across Asia and closely connected to ING's headquarters in Amsterdam, the team plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity while supporting trading, treasury, and financial markets activities. You will join a collaborative, internationally connected environment where technical expertise, continuous improvement, and stakeholder engagement are highly valued.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in professionals who can combine strong analytical capabilities with sound commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.

You will ideally bring:

  • At least 3-4 years of professional experience within Product Control, Valuation Control, Market Risk, Financial Control, or a related Finance function within banking
  • Understanding of Treasury, Foreign Exchange (FX), and derivatives products
  • Strong knowledge of P&L production, valuation and financial controls
  • Experience performing reconciliations, independent price verification, and reserve calculations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on improving processes and controls
  • Experience working in a fast-paced financial markets environment

What We Offer

At ING, you'll have the opportunity to work within a highly international environment where collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning are encouraged.

We offer:

  • Exposure to a broad range of Treasury and Financial Markets products
  • Opportunities to work on regional and global projects
  • A collaborative culture with strong stakeholder engagement across functions
  • Professional development and growth opportunities
  • A flexible and inclusive workplace where individuals are empowered to make an impact
