Leads strategic capital projects from concept through commissioning, validation, and operational handover. Develops engineering and process technology roadmaps for pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity and capability. Serves as the site SME for aseptic manufacturing and related operations, drives process optimization and operational excellence, leads investigations and CAPAs, and oversees equipment, facility, utility, automation, and process control upgrades. Supports technology transfers, validation, regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement while mentoring engineering teams.
Job Scope
- Lead strategic CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning, validation, and operational handover, ensuring delivery on scope, budget, and timelines.
- Develop and execute engineering and process technology roadmaps to support capacity expansion, process capability, and business growth.
- Serve as the site process engineering SME for aseptic manufacturing, compounding, filling, packaging, and inspection operations.
- Drive operational excellence through process optimization, OEE improvement, yield enhancement, waste reduction, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Lead complex process investigations, root cause analysis, CAPAs, and implementation of sustainable engineering solutions.
- Provide technical leadership for equipment, facility, utilities, automation, and process control system upgrades.
- Support technology transfers, process validation, manufacturing readiness, and lifecycle management programs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Automation, Utilities, and Global Engineering teams to achieve site objectives.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, technical documentation, process specifications, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Champion Lean, Six Sigma, Industry 4.0, digitalization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reliability.
- Monitor project and manufacturing performance, manage risks, and ensure audit and inspection readiness.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent while fostering a strong culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
What You'll Bring to Alcon
- Min Degree in Engineering or scientific field
- Min 8 years of relevant end to end experience project management in process engineering field in pharmaceutical/ medical field
- Brings along past experience in troubleshooting process issues and end to end validation experience will be required
