Your Role:

The Principal Corporate Communications Manager oversees Communications programs and agencies across various regions and programs, owning the local strategy, execution and success. The Principal Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for identifying new media opportunities that drive Tenable brand awareness and search value through top-tier business and national media outlets, podcast appearances, social media posts and more. Also requires the role to develop the necessary content (research reports, press releases, media commentary) to secure the opportunities, working with both regional leadership and Corporate.

Your Opportunity:

  • Regional Strategy & Activation: Develop and execute proactive communications campaigns for Singapore, India, Australia, and Japan that align with Tenable’s global business goals and specific regional program needs.
  • Omni-Channel Execution: Lead outreach across media relations, social media, and influencer networks, utilizing localized narratives and global storylines to drive thought leadership, executive visibility, and customer advocacy.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the primary Communications lead for regional leadership (SVP of APJ and Director of Field Marketing), collaborating on cross-functional projects to ensure integrated campaign delivery.
  • Media & Relationship Management: Manage all inbound and proactive new media initiatives, including pitching, relationship building with local/national press, and training company spokespersons for print and broadcast engagements. Experimentation with growing platforms including podcasts, Reddit, YouTube and other social media is an important aspect of the overall Communications program.
  • Crisis & Strategic Guidance: Provide expert counsel on crisis communications and issues-led commentary, leveraging a nuanced understanding of the current newscycle and unique local market landscapes.
  • Agency & Budget Oversight: Direct PR agencies by establishing KPIs, negotiating retainers and SOWs, and managing budgets to ensure all program objectives are met and optimized for maximum coverage.
  • Storyline Development: Partner with internal stakeholders to transform Tenable’s market role and marketing priorities into compelling, regionally relevant storylines that elevate the brand's presence.

Other Responsibilities:

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.

What You'll Need:

  • 20+ years of related experience.
  • Ability to meet competing deadlines and an aptitude for prioritizing tasks and projects.
  • Experience managing public relations programs for B2B/enterprise tech companies, either in-house or agency.
  • Proven working experience managing  public relations in a particular region or discipline (ex. APAC or product marketing) and strong agency contacts.
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns and a deep and nuanced understanding of cybersecurity.
  • Experience successfully launching PR programs in new regions/markets.  
  • Strong and trusted relationships with national business and industry media outlets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in AP Style.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and deliverables for product launches, corporate announcements or other high-visibility initiatives.
  • Experience offering strategic counsel on crisis communications for a B2B/enterprise tech company.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline preferred.

Key Decisions:

The Principal Corporate Comms Manager oversees all aspects of the Communications programs in their region, including agency retainers, influencers, KPIs and approvals for all PR and social media content (media comments, bylines and interviews). They also take the lead on cross-functional projects, including the promotion of research reports and other corporate announcements, by recommending timing, strategy and deliverables to make the launch successful.

Working Environment & Conditions:

  • Ability to work at a computer for an extended period of time.
  • Globally distributed client organization that operates both in-office and remotely.
  • Participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings; sometimes being the presenter of these trainings.
  • Singapore base preferred.
  • Infrequent travel required.
