Payments - Financial Institutions Group Sales (NBFI Focus) – Vice President

Sell integrated payments and treasury solutions to non-bank financial institutions across Hong Kong and APAC. Responsibilities include developing new business, managing strategic client relationships, leading consultative sales processes, coordinating implementation and delivery, partnering with internal product and coverage teams, and supporting AML/KYC and sanctions compliance. The role also involves senior stakeholder engagement, client events, market development, and achieving sales targets across cash management, liquidity, FX, merchant services, and trade finance.
Key responsibilities
- Sell the full Payments and Treasury Services suite, including core cash clearing, liquidity management, and foreign exchange solutions, as well as merchant services and trade & working capital solutions.
- Deliver new business goals, including the annual sales plan at target margins; identify prospects and opportunities, develop strategic calling plans, and engage partners and senior stakeholders to influence prospective clients.
- Build trusted, long-term Payments business relationships by taking a holistic and forward-looking view. Identify opportunities to help clients achieve their most important treasury and business objectives.
- Engage clients at senior and strategic levels to provide integrated treasury solutions within a consultative and client-focused framework.
- Partner closely with global and regional stakeholders, including Coverage, Product, Client Services, and Implementation teams, to execute the sales strategy.
- Understand unique challenges and requirements across the client segment. Actively participate and contribute in end-to-end product and service reviews to drive continuous improvement of our solution offering.
- Manage the entire sales process, including oversight of implementation and ongoing delivery for client solutions.
- Promote an effective operation risk environment including but not limited to accurate and timely renewals and completion of KYCs and other internal reporting /approval requirements.
- Support AML/Sanction related inquiries at both transactional or relationship levels; coordinate with client and internal teams to facilitate effective compliance investigations and screening.
- Work as a team and provide leadership in planning, organizing and coordinating client events as to promote and strengthen J.P. Morgan’s franchise.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Treasury Services sales covering Non-Bank Financial Institutional (‘NBFI’) clients, preferably covering Fintechs (e.g. TPPs, Digital assets) with a proven ability to build and develop relationships, win and close new business.
- Strong product expertise across cash management, foreign exchange (FX), liquidity, and information reporting/management, with a proven track record of selling multi-product, integrated solutions spanning payments, liquidity, FX, merchant acquiring, and trade/working capital structures.
- In-depth understanding of the Hong Kong and broader APAC transaction banking landscape, with strong intellectual curiosity and comfort operating in a dynamic market.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with fluency in Cantonese & Mandarin to support local language client engagement.
- Established network and experience working with Hong Kong & China headquartered as well as multinational NBFI clients.
- Strong understanding of the local regulatory and compliance environment; including demonstrated experience with AML/KYC risk and control processes.
- Effective partnership mindset with the ability to influence across internal and external stakeholders.
