We are seeking a talented individual to join the Mercer Marsh Benefits Leadership Team in Singapore. This hybrid role requires at least three days a week in the office and reports to the Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) Leader, Singapore with dotted line reporting to the MMB Advisory Leader, Asia. This is a leadership position responsible for managing and growing a key aspect of our health and benefits business. As part of the MMB Singapore Leadership team, you will be in a highly visible role, growing revenues for the business while enhancing your career. You’ll be involved in major client interactions and advising colleagues on new commercial propositions. You’ll also work with consultants and leaders at local and regional levels.
MMB Advisory provides clients with expertise, insights and advice to help them mitigate people risk and optimize workforce performance. We are seeking a leader who can ensure that MMB Advisory is established for scale in the Singapore market by driving the development, enablement, sale and delivery of health and benefits focused advisory solutions across all market segments.
The MMB Advisory Singapore Leader plays a key role in shaping our advisory strategy for the local market, assessing how to fill capability gaps, supporting the execution of global and regional initiatives focused on standardization, modernizing our data analytics, better aligning our teams, enhancing the commercial model and reporting on the value created by MMB Advisory.
We will count on you to:
- Lead the development of consulting solutions, capabilities and intellectual capital including thought leadership in Singapore, fostering a forward-looking, positive and profitability-focused culture by using an issue led approach to our consulting and broader propositions.
- Expand advisory aspects of MMB's value proposition and drive disruption around how benefits are designed, financed and delivered offering creative, consultative data-driven approaches to complement our core brokerage, placement and digital capabilities. Proactively position the business at the forefront of emerging areas outside of the insured benefit space based on key themes and social change including modernization of employee support programs and healthy organizational cultures.
- Work with sales, enablement and country leadership to develop capabilities to sell and deliver both generalist and specialty work. Support the development of new advisory propositions including but not limited to consulting (general design, workforce health, flex/choice, plan member communication, actuarial/financial, governance) on a single or multi-country basis.
- Support Regional efforts to enhance overall profitability of Advisory including instituting guardrails around what advisory work is delivered to broking clients, ensuring that appropriate focus is made on sale of repeatable and recurring projects and championing efforts to modernize analytics and offerings in areas such as plan design benchmarking and claims analysis.
- Ensure share of voice with clients – developing a point of view on both insured and non-insured benefits. Interact with clients to develop relationships and strategies to meet client needs.
- Manage the team so that client scope, quality, timeliness and budget of deliverables is effective. Lead teams in researching, analyzing, and evaluating medical / pharmacy, dental, vision, and life and disability, and flex benefits plans and programs.
- Provide financial, contract and/or administrative analysis.
- Delegate, guide and train junior staff and peer review their work. Act as an advisor to junior staff for problem resolution and provide guidance on appropriate ways to deal with challenges.
- Review RFP information gathered by the team, analyze and interpret the results and edit and finalize the executive summary report to provide to the client.
- Develop and maintain personal and working relationships with key client stakeholders to transition into the role of a trusted advisor and facilitate the sharing of advice and information relevant to the client to develop new and expanded business, and gain client referrals.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Business, psychology, public health or related fields
- 10 or more years’ experience in identifying, designing, recommending and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions to employers' complex population health management challenges
- Solid leadership experience
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment and to work independently and on a team
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Strong, innovative sales and marketing skills plus the ability to market organizational strengths successfully
- Superior analytical, strategic planning, oral and written communication, interpersonal and listening skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Required to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses as required by state regulations and Mercer policies
