Job Summary
The Manufacturing Process Engineering Manager 1 (M1) is responsible for leading a Process Engineering team to achieve world-class manufacturing performance in safety, quality, yield, cycle time, cost, and output. The manager provides technical leadership, develops engineering talent, drives process optimization, and partners with Manufacturing, Equipment Engineering, Facilities, Quality, and Central Teams to support business objectives and technology roadmap execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Process Performance Ownership
  • Own process performance indicators including:
    • Yield
    • Quality
    • Cycle Time (CT)
    • Cost
    • Manufacturing Output
  • Drive continuous improvement activities to achieve benchmark performance.
  • Lead process optimization and recipe management activities.
  • Resolve chronic yield and process excursions.

2. Operations & Manufacturing Support
  • Ensure process stability and manufacturing readiness.
  • Support daily manufacturing operations and escalation management.
  • Lead process qualification and technology deployment activities.
  • Partner with production teams to maximize wafer output and capacity utilization.

3. Yield & Quality Improvement
  • Establish proactive process control culture.
  • Utilize SPC, FDC and advanced statistical methodologies.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
  • Drive defect reduction and yield enhancement projects.

4. Change Management & Risk Control
  • Ensure effective process change management.
  • Review and govern process modifications.
  • Identify and mitigate manufacturing risks before implementation.
  • Support process compliance and audit requirements.

5. Technology Development & Ramp
  • Lead new tool qualification and process startup activities.
  • Support technology transfer and production ramp.
  • Work with global teams and suppliers to implement best practices.
  • Drive process capability improvement to support future products.

6. Team Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop Process Engineers.
  • Build succession and leadership pipelines.
  • Foster technical capability growth.
  • Drive employee engagement and development culture.

7. AI-related experience and skills, and the ability to guide TM in using AI to achieve company expectations.
8. Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with:
    • Manufacturing (PROD)
    • Equipment Engineering (ME)
    • Facilities (FAC)
    • Quality (QE)
    • IE
    • Central Teams
    • Suppliers and Vendors
  • Drive alignment and execution across organizations.

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in:
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Materials Science
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Semiconductor Engineering
    • Related Engineering Field

Experience
  • Semiconductor process engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process flow.
  • Yield enhancement and process integration knowledge.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
