OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Assist the HVAC Manager, in the delivery of services to operate and maintain the property including customer/client services, financial management, facility maintenance, procurement, and supplier management. Develop client relationships with key representatives in supporting client’s corporate real estate goals and objectives.

Leads team in the execution of inspection testing and maintenance of facilities systems in compliance with all applicable local code. Monitor the MEP projects, looking out for their quality and ensuring their timely delivery.

Likewise, you’ll play a part in the engineering oversight of the client’s comprehensive facility, contract and procurement management for facilities engineering services. You’ll contribute to hitting financial targets and other goals set by the Campus Engineering Lead/ Engineering Manager, achieving key performance indicators, and meeting service level agreements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overcoming Engineering Challenges and Commitment to Operational Excellence

As a HVAC Engineer, you will-

  • Provide basic technical advice and guidance for Facilities managers at campus and project teams on process system matters.
  • Leads team members in executing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Involve in General building process and mechanical system related issue and lead troubleshooting and restoring systems like HVAC, scrubbers, cold rooms, fume hoods, Compressed Dry Air system, exhaust/supply fan and water systems.
  • Mentors and trains staff on proper execution of work tasks and ensure team members have correct equipment and tools necessary to safely perform job.
  • Perform maintenance planning, implementation and review of site-specific engineering processes and protocols including, documentation and adherence to the established change management controls for the Campus
  • Contribute to investigation of facilities related issue and lead troubleshooting & restoring system
  • Maintain documentation of all maintenance performed including system deficiencies.
  • Perform risk assessments & Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to gain an intimate understanding of the system.
  • Facilitate Work Order processing to ensure the timely and orderly flow for Work Orders (CMMS /Corrigo workflow)
  • Providing effective solutions in managing our campus daily operations and technical issues including difficult situations.
  • You’ll also make sure that all essential site activities—including the maintenance—are performed in a safe and efficient manner; complying with policies and requirements set out by the manufacturer, government, our client and our own management teams including compliance with statutory regulations on fire, environmental, health and safety standards.
  • Support audits to ensure that all safety procedures, including disaster recovery and business continuity plans, as well as escalation procedures, are in place and maintained.
  • Managing and monitoring of vendors and tracking of vendor performance- including regular meetings.

Performance Excellence

  • Foster positive working relationships by meeting (and exceeding) our service level agreements with the client. Working as part of a larger team, you will be involved in ensuring all key performance indicators are met, as set out in the management contract.

Championing Improvement including Projects

  • You will monitor spend and budgets for the engineering contracts as required.
  • You will also suggest improvement and savings for the engineering systems that will benefit both us and our clients.
  • Working closely with our vendors, coordinating with them on a variety of projects from beginning to end. You’ll see to it that our vendors are managed accordingly, and safety audits and repairs are in sync with the projects’ timeline.
  • You will be the engineering point of contact and will work closely with respective system leads on forecasts and planning in line with client’s requirements
  • You are open to new and innovative ideas and you focus on continuous improvement and delighting the customer

A technical hand on expert

  • You should have earned a diploma or degree in engineering (Mechanical / Process)
  • Having three to seven years of experience in a lab or plant machinery environment or engineering operations will also prove indispensable.
  • A strong background in engineering troubleshooting is a big plus.
  • Proven experience in facilities system operations, MEP installations, etc.
  • Experience in Thermal Safety, HSE programs would be plus.

Good communicator

  • An excellent command of spoken and written English and a local language.
  • Should be able to communicate technical issues to less able colleagues, clients and vendors.
