Job Scope
You will report directly to the Hardware Lead. Your daily schedule will include frequent interactions with a multi-disciplinary team, and you need to be equally comfortable working at sea trials and a normal desk in the office. You will need to work in Singapore.
- Design and Implement overall Mechanical Systems of Autonomous Platforms: Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (HAUVs)
- Design of mechanical components, mechanisms and electronics housings in CAD.
- Conduct Finite Element Analysis Simulation on design components for structural integrity and stress failure assessment.
- Drafting of 2D drawings for fabrication and assembly.
- Assembly and testing of designed mechanical components in the workshop and testing in real world environments.
- Sail out to sea for testing and evaluation of completed mechanical designs and other robotic systems.
- Gather user requirements in collaboration with management team and customers.
- Establish test procedures for mechanical quality control and regulatory compliance.
Desired Qualities and Skillsets
- B.Eng in Engineering (Mechanical), or related experience.
- 0-3 years of experience in mechanical product design from concept to product delivery to customers.
- Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent engineering CAD design software.
- Experienced with prototyping and various manufacturing methods ranging from 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC, welding, composites etc.
- Experienced with Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics simulation modelling such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, OpenFOAM or equivalent simulation software.
- Experienced with corrosion control methods and thermal design methods is a plus.
