Manage maritime safety and daily operations: enforce safety policies, conduct inspections and incident investigations, lead training and drills, supervise personnel discipline, support warehouse inventory and documentation, and coordinate operator scheduling to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient marine operations.
Royal Ocean Marine is seeking a reliable and proactive Marine Safety Officer / Safety cum Operations Executive to support both safety management and operational coordination for our client marine operation. This role will play a key part in promoting workplace safety, managing personnel discipline, and ensuring smooth daily operations such as goods handling and manpower deployment.
Key Responsibilities:Safety & Compliance
- Implement and enforce company safety policies and procedures in line with maritime safety standards and local dock safety regulations.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits on vessels and at the dockyard.
- Investigate safety-related incidents or near misses and recommend corrective actions.
- Organize and lead regular safety training, toolbox meetings, and emergency drills.
- Monitor and manage personnel discipline to ensure adherence to company rules and expectations.
- Provide guidance and supervision to operators and site workers on best practices in safety and behavior.
- Receive incoming goods, verify quantities, and ensure proper documentation and storage procedures.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory record and assist with warehouse organization and upkeep.
- Plan and coordinate daily operator scheduling to optimize manpower efficiency and shift coverage.
- Support overall marine operations in collaboration with other departments, ensuring safety and productivity align.
Requirements
- ITE / Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Logistics, or related field.
- Familiar with safety regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, MOM ) and dock safety protocols
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage teams and enforce discipline.
- Basic knowledge of inventory systems and warehouse practices.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite); experience with safety or warehouse software is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, WSQ, or ISO Auditor are advantageous.
- Willingness to work on-site and occasionally outside regular hours as required.
