Job Description

CATAPULT by CapitaLand is seeking a results-oriented and highly motivated Sales and Operations Manager to drive revenue growth by identifying, securing, and nurturing business opportunities within the events, hospitality or MICE sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets, building lasting client relationships, and a deep understanding of the events and hospitality landscape. You will be responsible for managing the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and client consultation to contract negotiation and post-event follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue Generation and Business Development

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed individual and team revenue targets
  • Identify, research, and prospect new business opportunities, focusing on high-value corporate clients, event planners, and key decision-makers
  • Build a robust sales pipeline by actively pursuing leads through networking, cold outreach, and attending industry events and trade shows
  • Craft and deliver compelling, customized sales proposals and presentations that highlight our unique offerings and value proposition
  • Negotiate contracts and finalize agreements to secure bookings for events, group business, or other hospitality services

2. Account and Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, from the initial inquiry through the successful execution of their event
  • Actively manage a portfolio of existing accounts to drive repeat business, up-selling, and cross-selling opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners to expand the company's network
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and acting as a trusted business advisor

3. Strategy and Market Intelligence

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute targeted promotional campaigns and packages to attract new business
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to inform business strategy and maintain a competitive edge
  • Provide regular and accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and performance data to Head of Business Operations
  • Work closely with operations, catering, and other internal teams to ensure seamless event execution and exceptional customer experience

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales or business development within the events, hospitality, or hotel industry
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Strong network of contacts within the [local/corporate/events] market
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Dynamics CRM)
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • A proactive, creative, and resilient mindset with a passion for the events and hospitality industry
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules
  • Work well under pressure, with a high degree of dependability, adaptability, and flexibility
  • Agile team player with the ability to work independently in a start-up-like environment, solution-orientated (enjoys creative problem solving) with passion and curiosity for learning, good initiative and a sense of humor!
