Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Business Solutions Control Tower to provide technical leadership and governance over data, automation, and supporting infrastructure that enable business systems across APAC. This role sits within the IT team and focuses on establishing consistent engineering practices, operational standards, and lifecycle management for solutions developed and used by the business. Working closely with Business IT teams, the role ensures these solutions remain scalable, secure, and supportable as they grow in scope and usage, while assuming responsibility for enterprise‑level data engineering and database administration, as well as the infrastructure services that underpin business systems. This position reports to the Head of IT Infrastructure in APAC.
Through this scope, the role plays a key part in strengthening enterprise governance, operational stability, and technical standards across business systems. The role works closely with business stakeholders and IT delivery teams to enable ongoing digitalization and automation initiatives, with a strong focus on evolving solutions from ad‑hoc or localized implementations into standardized, enterprise‑ready operating models aligned with global IT strategy, infrastructure standards, and governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Business System Governance & Support Ownership
- Act as the IT support owner for assigned data‑ and automation‑enabled business systems, ensuring they are stable, secure, compliant, and supportable.
- Establish and enforce enterprise standards for system architecture, access control, environment separation (production, test, development), change management, and technical documentation.
- Provide technical leadership and governance over solutions developed and used by Business IT, ensuring alignment with IT standards and long‑term scalability.
- Define clear ownership, support models, escalation paths, and lifecycle management for business systems operating under IT governance.
- Serve as the primary IT authority for systems requiring enterprise‑level engineering discipline, governance, audit readiness, and long‑term sustainability.
Data Engineering & Platform Modernization
- Own and manage the databases that support Business IT systems, ensuring they are reliable, secure, and fit for enterprise use.
- Lead the modernization of these databases, including upgrades, re‑architecture, and remediation activities, to align with IT standards, security policies, and audit requirements, in close collaboration with the Global Security team and Database Administration team.
- Establish and enforce best practices for database design, access control, environment separation (production, test, development), performance optimization, and operational resilience.
- Define and execute a roadmap to streamline and rationalize data sources over time, aligning local and business‑managed databases with global data management strategies, including enterprise data hubs, Databricks, and other standardized analytics and data platforms.
- Ensure stability and continuity of existing business systems throughout the modernization and transition process.
Intelligent Automation & Citizen Development Governance
- Own and govern enterprise automation capabilities supporting business systems, including workflow automation, RPA, and intelligent automation.
- Define and enforce standards to ensure automation solutions are secure, compliant, supportable, and audit‑ready.
- Lead the APAC citizen developer program, enabling business teams to build automation solutions within clearly defined IT guardrails.
- Establish lifecycle management for all automation solutions, covering onboarding, risk assessment, support, and transition into IT‑managed operations when required.
- Drive the adoption of intelligent and AI‑assisted automation to improve efficiency and decision‑making under approved architectures and governance.
- Govern integrations between automation solutions, business systems, data platforms, and infrastructure to ensure reliability and data integrity.
- Apply DevSecOps practices for automation and data engineering work using GitHub Enterprise, including repository governance and CI/CD pipelines.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience managing enterprise‑scale data engineering and intelligent automation solutions within an IT organization.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Azure, including designing and operating cloud services that support automation, data workloads, and business systems.
- Solid experience with GitHub Enterprise in an enterprise environment, including repository governance, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.
- Hands‑on experience with automation platforms, including:
- Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
- Copilot Studio or equivalent agent or conversational automation tools
- RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath or similar enterprise RPA solutions)
- Solid experience with:
- SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and architecture
- Data engineering fundamentals and environment segregation (production, test, development)
- Cloud and hybrid system operations
- Integration with ERP or core enterprise systems
- Experience working with cross‑functional business teams and IT stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating within large, global, or federated IT organizations.
- Exposure to data platform modernization initiatives (e.g., Databricks, enterprise data hubs).
- ITIL, cloud, or architecture‑related certifications.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Work Experience:
- Typically 6+ years including 2+ years of supervisory experience
Education and Certification(s):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
