Manager, Finance Project Manager

You will lead the Finance Project Management/ Business Analyst team, driving delivery of finance-wide transformation initiatives, system enhancements, and process improvements.

This role focuses on end-to-end project management, governance, and execution across Finance, working closely with Finance SMEs, IT, and business stakeholders. While SMEs provide functional expertise and requirements, you will ensure structured delivery, prioritisation, and successful implementation of finance projects.

You will play a key role in transforming Finance capabilities through strong project leadership, stakeholder alignment, and disciplined execution.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Finance Project Portfolio Management

• Own and manage the Finance project portfolio, including prioritisation, planning, and execution across finance-wide initiatives
• Establish and drive project governance frameworks, standards, and reporting
• Ensure alignment of project priorities with Finance and organisational strategy

2. End-to-End Project Delivery

• Lead and manage full project lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, testing, deployment, and post-implementation review)
• Drive delivery timelines, budgets, scope, and quality outcomes
• Identify risks and issues proactively, ensuring mitigation and resolution

3. Stakeholder Management & Coordination

• Partner closely with Finance SMEs, who provide business requirements and subject matter expertise
• Act as the central coordination point across Finance, IT, and vendors
• Influence stakeholders and drive alignment across multiple business unit

4. Finance Transformation & Systems Initiatives

• Lead implementation of finance systems, enhancements, and process automation initiatives
• Work with IT and vendors to ensure solutions meet business needs and are delivered effectively
• Support continuous improvement of finance processes and operating model

5. Budget & Resource Management

• Manage project budgets, cost tracking, and financial governance
• Optimise allocation of resources across projects
• Support business cases and investment approvals

6. Vendor & Delivery Management

• Oversee external vendors and delivery partners to ensure quality and timelines
• Support contract management, performance tracking, and renewals

7. Team Leadership

• Lead and develop a team of project managers / analysts
• Build strong project management capabilities within Finance
• Foster a collaborative, delivery-focused team culture 

Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy, Business, IT, or related discipline
• At least 8 years of finance experience, with 3+ years in managing finance-related projects or teams within the insurance/ financial service industry
• Strong project management experience in Finance transformation (systems, processes, or regulatory initiatives)
• Experience working with Finance SMEs, IT teams, and cross-functional stakeholders
• Familiarity with Finance systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, BI tools) preferred
• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, or hybrid delivery methodologies
• Knowledge of IFRS17 will be a plus
