Job Summary:

As a Precious metal logistic and Clearing Specialist, you will report to the Vice President of the Markets Operations and play a critical role in the end-to-end processing and management of precious metal transactions including but not limited to Inventory/Vault management, physical commodity logistics, daily reconciliation of clearing positions, deal checks and problem resolution. You will ensure operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and compliance with regulatory requirements while collaborating closely with front office, risk, legal, and technology teams. We are looking for professionals with strong technical knowledge of precious metal and clearing with proven operational expertise in a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Processing:

    • Manage end-to-end processing of precious metals transactions across trade validation, confirmation, settlement, position maintenance and exception resolution.

    • Ensure transactions are processed accurately within market, counterparty and internal cut-off times.

    • Investigate unmatched, failed or incorrectly booked transactions and coordinate timely resolution.

Physical Logistics and Inventory

  • Coordinate approved physical metal movements with vaults, carriers, counterparties and other appointed service providers.

  • Validate movement instructions, bar lists, quantities, weights, fineness, locations and supporting documents.

  • Maintain complete chain-of-custody and movement records.

  • Reconcile internal inventory records against vault and third-party statements.

  • Escalate shortages, discrepancies, delays and control breaches promptly.

Clearing and Reconciliation

  • Perform or oversee trade, position, cash, margin, inventory and fee reconciliations for the relevant clearing arrangements.

  • Investigate clearing breaks and coordinate resolution with brokers, clearers, front office, Finance and Technology.

  • Monitor settlement obligations, delivery positions, margin requirements and aged exceptions.

  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of clearing and settlement records.

Risk, Control and Governance

  • Own daily operational controls and retain appropriate evidence.

  • Monitor aged breaks, failed settlements, inventory exceptions and control issues.

  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement sustainable remediation.

  • Maintain procedures, control documentation and management information.

  • Support audits, regulatory reviews, risk assessments and incident investigations.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Change and Stakeholder Management

  • Assess operational readiness for new products, markets, counterparties and system changes.

  • Lead testing, implementation and post-deployment monitoring for relevant enhancements.

  • Drive automation and process redesign to strengthen controls and reduce manual risk.

  • Manage relationships with front office, risk, legal, compliance, finance, technology and external providers.

Functional Leadership

  • Supervise daily work allocation, control completion and exception escalation.

  • Coach team members and maintain adequate cross-training and coverage.

  • Act as the subject-matter expert for precious metals logistics and clearing processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in precious metals, commodities, clearing, settlement, custody, vaulting or physical logistics operations.

  • Strong understanding of precious metals transaction lifecycles, market conventions, physical settlement and inventory controls.

  • Working knowledge of applicable regulatory, sanctions, financial-crime and internal-control requirements.

  • Experience in operational-risk management, incident investigation, audit support and procedure governance.

  • Strong analytical, stakeholder-management and problem-solving skills.

  • Leadership experience or demonstrated capability to provide functional supervision.

  • Experience with automation, system implementation or process transformation is preferred.

  • This is a 100% Work -in- Office role, based at Tampines
