[What the role is]

You will be part of a team driving the implementation and enhancement of pedestrian safety measures at signalised crossings in Singapore. In this role, you will contribute directly to improving pedestrian safety through the implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) solutions as part of LTA's broader effort to enhance pedestrian safety across Singapore's road network. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and innovation, combining hands-on technical work with strategic thinking to continuously raise the bar for pedestrian safety and experience across Singapore.

[What you will be working on]

Designing and Developing Technical Solutions

You will conceptualise, design, and deploy technical solutions that enhance pedestrian safety and experience at signalised crossings. This includes leveraging sensor technologies for pedestrian detection, developing smart crossing solutions, and evaluating emerging technologies through proof-of-concept trials. You will also contribute to road safety research, keeping abreast of industry developments and translating findings into practical, deployable innovations on Singapore's road network.

Project Implementation and Maintenance

You will manage ITS projects, oversee contract activities including budgeting and contractor management to ensure deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to specification. This includes planning and supervising maintenance programmes, conducting site inspections, overseeing fault rectification, and carrying out system testing. You will hold contractors accountable to their contractual obligations and drive performance improvements where necessary.

Data Analysis and Insights

You will analyse data and system performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of pedestrian safety initiatives, identify trends, and generate actionable insights. Your findings will support traffic operations, inform policy decisions, and contribute to ongoing programme evaluation and process refinement.

Stakeholder Engagement

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate activities, understand user needs, and align on operational and technical requirements — ensuring that solutions are designed and delivered with the end user's experience in mind.

[What we are looking for]

  • A degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, or an equivalent discipline. Candidates with relevant experience in fields such system integration are welcome to apply.

  • Three years of experience in systems engineering, project management, or maintenance management, preferably in a  in a traffic or transportation, or smart infrastructure related field.

  • Hands-on experience or a strong interest in sensor technologies, intelligent transport systems, or smart city solutions, with the ability to evaluate and translate emerging technologies into practical applications.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable insights for operations and policy purposes is preferred.

  • Genuine interest in operations and maintenance environments, with a keen interest in problem-solving.

  • Resourceful and self-driven, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Strong sense of responsibility, with good writing, communication, and presentation skills.

As part of the shortlisting process for the role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and / or undergo further assessment.
