[What the role is]

LEGAL COUNSEL (PROSECUTION)

[What you will be working on]

This Legal division provides legal services to various LTA divisions on land transport matters including the regulation of road traffic, autonomous vehicles, active mobility, point-to-point passenger transport and electric vehicle infrastructure.
You will be involved in prosecuting statutory offences under the purview of the Land Transport Authority. These statutory offences fall under a wide variety of Acts and the corresponding subsidiary legislation such as the Road Traffic Act, Parking Places Act, Street Works Act, Active Mobility Act, Motor Vehicles (Third-Party Risks and Compensation) Act and Electric Vehicle Charging Act. Training in advocacy, court craft, criminal procedure and evidence will be provided.
Additionally, you will also provide legal support and advice to enforcement and investigation divisions within the Land Transport Authority as well as liaise with the Attorney-General’s Chambers, the State Courts and Singapore Police Force.
Given the emerging and disruptive nature of the technology in the matters that the Division deals with, you will be challenged to be forward-thinking to anticipate and address implications from a legal perspective.

• Qualified Person under the Legal Profession Act or called to the Singapore Bar
