Job Description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

  • Perform daily BAU operations i.e. limits activation/maintenance, static data maintenances and limits monitoring in Limits Monitoring Team.
  • Perform credit monitoring functions i.e. track & monitor covenants, credit review due dates, monitor facility excesses and collateral shortfall, monitor collaterals expiry dates, litigation alerts and expiry dates for insurances
  • Ensures accuracy, efficiency and meets the agreed turnaround time with the Business Units while avoiding operational risks and losses
  • Supports the effort to improve productivity, efficiency and lower costs via continuous process improvements
  • Maintains good business relationships/partnerships with key stakeholders, aligning actions to customer needs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer/Market – Business Transformation

  • Structuring of credit facilities in the loans system, perform limit implementation/maintenance and limit monitoring functions
  • Perform credit monitoring functions i.e. track & monitor covenants, credit review due dates, monitor facility excesses and collateral shortfall, monitor collaterals expiry dates, litigation alerts and expiry dates for insurances
  • Perform loan static data maintenances
  • Respond to Business Units’ requests and enquiries within a stipulated time-line
  • Collaborate with the Team Lead to engage the Business Units on a regular basis to resolve BAU issues, improve processes and cooperation between Credit Ops and the Business Units.
  • Participate actively to move the team towards completion of goals i.e. develop a service-oriented culture within the team
  • Support Business Units in their digitalization initiatives &/or launch of new products

Process Digitalization or Automation/STP

  • Participate in process digitalization or automation initiatives.

Productivity Improvement

  • Ensure all SLA/TAT are being met.
  • Ensure work is completed with speed and accuracy.
  • Contribute process improvements ideas to improve TAT, efficiency and reduction of internal errors in work processes.

Process Efficiency/Process Improvements

  • Participate in process improvement discussions to improve the turnaround time for BAU processes
  • Identify operational risks and implement measures/controls to plug the risk gaps so that processes are in line with the with all internal & external policies/guidelines and requirements of the regulators

 

Operational Risk & Compliance

  • Work together with Team Lead to ensure that audit rating is “Satisfactory” or better.
  • Work together with Team Lead to ensure no/minimal operational lapses/financial losses

Individual Contribution/Competency

  • Participate in BCP Co-ordinator/Risk Co-ordinator or Data Steward role

Learning/Competitive Positioning

  • Maintain high standards for self-development to achieve/exceed the goals of the team and to derive satisfaction from achievement of goals and continuous improvement
  • Initiate action plans to achieve self-development goals which has to be in line with the department and Group’s direction of building high performance culture e.g. attend courses from APLMA to understand the clauses in the Facility Agreement
  • Develop a mind-set of continuous learning to keep up with the pace of change in the Bank and to be competent in the job assigned
  • Mentor and provide training to junior staff

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 5 years’ related experience in a Financial Institution with related experience in credit administration and credit monitoring for all credit products.

Other skills required:

  • Familiar with both commercial, corporate and retail banking products.
  • Resourceful and a good team player.
  • Conversant with related local regulatory requirements would be an added advantage.
  • Good time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically in Excel.
