Job Description:

Responsibilities:

The purpose of this role is to support the organization by rendering legal support, including trade compliance, export control, contract review, policy review, and other related support across all divisions and functions in the APAC region, ensuring compliance to various laws and interacting with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Manage regulatory requirements and their implementation

  • Support investigations into potential breaches of regulations

  • Manage litigation

  • Review contracts

  • Analysis of new laws, in particular trade compliance, export control laws and regulations and Sanctions for potential impact on group policies and procedures and advising on varied APAC regional issues.

  • Provide Export Control support by working closely with the export control managers, APAC and other stakeholders and rendering advice to all businesses in the region covering  Airbus Commercial, Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Defence and Space, in a one-roof approach

  • Support the implementation of the Airbus Export Control Program in the APAC region by giving practical advice and guidance in relation to the different elements of the programme, including implementation of policies and procedures, providing training to employees exposed to the Export Control risk and undertaking local risk assessments. 

  • Animate and support the local network of Export Control and Compliance focal points. 

  • Travel as required to support local Legal & Compliance (L&C), Export Control (EC) and Ethics & Compliance (E&C) teams (team meetings, business support, etc.)

  • Work in close relationship and alignment with the L&C team based in APAC & Globally.

  • The role could also be expanded depending on the extent of the candidate’s legal training

  • Ad hoc assignments from L&C

Requirements:

  • 8 to 10 years of legal and/or regulatory experience

  • 3 to 5 years experience  with export control, including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) or similar regulations, working in a multinational environment advising on trade compliance, export control matters, regulations and licensing 

  • Experience in implementing export control in SAP or similar export control screening tool

  • Exposure in compliance towards Anti-money laundering (AML) would  be added advantage

  • Strong Project Management skills

  • Good working knowledge of EU, UK, US and APAC law and regulations;

  • Good working knowledge of EU, UK, US and APAC export controls regulations;

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Law or related field 

  • Fluent in English

  • Multilingual ability is a plus, in particular APAC languages to be able to communicate and liaise effectively with stakeholders across the APAC region

  • Legal training or practice is a plus
