About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Regulatory Relations Specialist on the Wholesale Regulatory Relations Team, specifically in Singapore. The Wholesale RR team is responsible for supporting regulatory engagements for Wells Fargo, including, but not limited to, regulatory examinations, supervisory meetings, information requests, and responses to regulatory findings. The role is responsible for ensuring an effective and efficient regulatory engagement process and critical regulatory interactions. The Lead RR Specialist supports senior management to set strategy for the regulatory engagements pertaining to the efforts managed by these businesses, and assures connectivity across regional, legal entity and/or enterprise functions in accordance with enterprise regulatory relations strategy, policy, and related procedures. The role manages relevant supporting processes, establishes appropriate communications protocols, and programs, and ensures transparency.
The role will be visible, demanding, and rewarding, interacting regularly with senior business and functional leaders, members of governance committees and the Regulatory Relations leadership team.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead and advise on complex and broadly impactful regulatory relations strategy, governance, communications, and interactions, including those that are cross functional, large-scale, or which may include multiple regulatory agencies
  • Review and analyze complex, multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term regulatory approaches and engagements that require in-depth evaluation of multiples factors, including technical challenges, intangibles, or unprecedented factors
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, regulations, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid-level to senior managers to resolve issues and achieve goals, integrating approach for matters which cross functions or regulatory agencies
  • Lead projects, virtual teams, and serve as a peer mentor to ensure appropriate preparation, accountability, and consistent delivery on regulatory commitments, execution of regulatory relations policy and procedures, or other initiatives
  • Represent regulatory relations, in concert with business partners, before regulatory agencies on policy matters, responses, commitments, needs, and approach in adherence to policy and procedure
  • Research and assess internal and external regulatory environment to identify and report on themes, emerging trends, and risks, sharing insights with team and leadership to resolve concerns
  • Work with partners to aggregate and report on regulatory actions for key stakeholders including executive leadership, the board of directors, and regulators to ensure consistency with strategy and approach

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Regulatory Relations or Risk Management, includes Regulatory Relations, Compliance, Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Audit, Legal, Credit Risk, Market Risk, IT Systems Security, Business Process Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience evaluating and providing timely contributions to consistent, accurate and high-quality reports to stakeholders including senior leadership, and regulators
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to reporting on regulatory exams, information requests, and related activities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the full regulatory engagement lifecycle and the role regulatory relations plays in the end-to-end process.
  • Ability to challenge, while exercising sound judgement and professionalism, in order to achieve consistency, quality and drive efficiency
  • Experience in business writing to optimize business-related documentation, such as committee and forum materials and communications tied to regulatory issue progression, that provides concise and ease of consumption for senior leaders and regulators.
  • Excellent verbal communications skills.
