Job Description
About the role:
As a Technical Lead at CFC, you will be responsible for guiding and mentoring a team towards the successful development of high-quality technical solutions that align with our business goals. Providing technical leadership, designing and implementing complex solutions, and ensuring the team adheres to best practices. Join us in shaping the technical direction of our projects and fostering a culture of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee a team of engineers to ensure successful project delivery, from inception to deployment.
- Define technical requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical designs.
- Coordinate with product owners and stakeholders to prioritize tasks and allocate resources.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration within the team.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices performing code reviews and providing constructive feedback to peers.
- Identify and address technical debt and architectural weaknesses.
- Evaluate and mitigate technical risks associated with projects, ensuring smooth progress and timely delivery.
- Champion quality-focused software development, enforcing quality assurance standards, processes, testing methodologies, and driving initiatives to improve the development team efficiency (like automation, CI/CD).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Proven ability to understand, articulate, and advocate for technological solutions in both technical and non-technical contexts, with thoughtful application of agile principles.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in a Python Engineer role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to effectively interpret and present data; experience contributing data insights as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated experience as a technical lead developer or engineer, with a primary focus on Python.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, with hands-on experience using PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Databricks.
- Competence in developing applications without the use of Object-Relational Mappers (ORMs).
- Familiarity with the complexities of handling data at scale, including performance and architecture considerations.
- Proficient in using command-line tools such as Git and bash/zsh; experience with Vim is an added advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Logic, Applied Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or a closely related field—or equivalent professional experience.
